And kinda back to the point…completely unnecessary in the scope of the movie.

It actually did give context to "this is how much these people are allowing us in". After the director told him he didn't have to. Even if Billy cut the cameras shooting like 20 other times.

And is now available on streaming if you can't leave your house for a few hours.

Disagree.

Early in the film, Fielder trolls Evans into bragging about being attractive to women. Agreeing, or more likely wanting, to appear naked fits right into the theme that Evans and Holmes are psychotic narcists.

It fits perfectly.

ETA - I'll bet a huge majority of women would have zero love interest in a sick **** like Evans.

Evans is a classic case of looks attractive on the surface, fit and athletic, but has never been with good looking women because he is such a bizzarro goofball. And a POS.

It's like 15 seconds long and immediately after the workout scene so you have a cue as to when to tell him to close his eyes. Wouldn't be that hard to work around.

If only they would put the movie run times on the movie schedule postings in the cinema websites.

Or the IMDB page

They are counted as a team, not competing against each other. I actually heard Lord and Miller talk about this on The Town podcast. Directors can get co-credit if they're both on set together at all times.

The Daniels won Best Director as a pair for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Okay, that was incredible. As a Nathan Fielder fan, I figured this would be a small movie for millenial guys that enjoy his humor, not one of the biggest movies of the year. So many "non-movie" people have been talking about this movie, saying that they want to see it or heard it was good, etc etc.

My wife, who can't stand Nathan For You, came and saw this with me and while she looked like she was watching a horror movie throughout, she absolutely loved it as did I.

Nathan's incisive questioning combined with Oppenheim's suffocating style made for the perfect pairing for this subject.

Questions of what is real, what is truth, who is exploiting who, who is profiting off of what all bounced around in my mind after watching this.

The turn in the second half was so so good and absolutely Oscar worthy.

I also think Nathan addressing Billy's demand head on was a genius move and I'd be curious how early he landed on that idea.It absolutely would have come out and shone a negative light on the film if it wasn't addressed, so Nathan certainly got the last laugh with how that turned out.

This is the movie of the year and man, I'd love to see it get Best Picture.

This guy living in Austin was the cherry on top for me. As a born and raised Austinite he is unfortunately what a lot of dudes are like in this city. Laser license plate was classic ****** move.

I also loved that they met in Wework another classic fraud company. Genius!

I think everything with Amanda she was acting. A la Jury Duty where everyone from the "created" team are acting and the rest are playing it straight. All her interactions with Billy she was acting. Her and Nathan walking around the farm and watching Holmes reactions to the Dropout, I believe she was acting and pretending to have these opinions that were scripted by design.

I also loved how Nathan awkwardly addressed prison to Holmes. Like he says something to the fact of "keep your head up" or "Hang in there" very cringy humor.

I truly believe he was trying to bait her into kissing him before she went to prison.

The more I think about this and what was said throughout the movie I think it could all be fake. Nothing about Nathan says we need to take him seriously. He even talks about this in the film, copywrite law, Amanda said she was playing a fictional character etc. Which I thought they are dropping these nuggets to say, hey, we're not serious and you shouldn't trust us. Even his looks directly into the camera. Nathan was looking and saying, "I got you suckers"
I'd rather light a candle than curse your darkness

I enjoyed it. Wish it had some scenes of Nathan just existing in Bryan which would've been hilarious for any Aggies who know his previous work. Missed opportunity for a zoom-in still shot on the "Bryan, a great place to live" signs

This why this never should have been labeled a "documentary." It's simply not, on any scale. I wonder if A24/ regrets that now, or if the movie ever would have been such a smash if it weren't.

I do think Nathan was trying to bait her, not knowing how to use it, not with really intention on how to use it in a 3 hour edit later, but in a "this can't be footage it hurts to have in case we decide to use it, we can always throw it in the trash can."

Looks like 3rd week at #1 at box office. Bonkers.

The arguing over whether Amanda was acting, scripted or real shows that Fielder nailed the entire premise for the movie. You don't know what is real and what is a character he created. The uncertainty isn't a bug, it's the key feature.
Even if the scenes where she is supposed to be "real," you can't look past that she is a talented professional actress. Is she supposed to be honest in her direction from Fielder, but decides to act on her own? We just don't know. And aren't supposed to
What starts as a "what is real and honest about Elizabeth Holmes" turns into "what is real and honest about this movie" You can't trust Holmes, you can't trust Amanda, you can't trust Feilder, you can't trust Billy, you can't trust the New York Times, etc. etc.
The movie is a bit long and drug at the beginning, but this was 9/10 for me for film making. Even if you find it boring, it's a masterclass in writing and film making.

I don't think for one second Billy/Elizabeth didn't sign on for an upfront payment, trade that for profit participation, then trade it back for upfront payment.

Especially after the amount of coverage this has gotten before, and who was doing it this time.
