Red sun vs yellow sun I believe

Then why leave the dog there waiting for an antidote instead of just taking it to a yellow sun? They put zero thought into this.

The healer said the dog couldn't be moved because it would die.

I think the answer is "because that's what the plot needed to happen"

And that is idiotic. Laying on a table in a hut is not different from a laying on a table somewhere else. Definitely not as active as getting into a big fight scene. They could have just left supergirl getting poisoned out. Or maybe she is just somehow immune to "poisoning" since everyone else on her home planet was dying except her.

This is just one of countless senseless plot points in this terrible movie.

If you don't like the explanation that's fine, but "he's too injured to move" is a pretty common plot device in movies. You said it didn't make any sense, but there were explanations given in the movie itself, you just didn't want to accept them.

Saying "Somehow... Palpatine returned" doesn't excuse lazy writing. But I am happy for you if you enjoyed this movie.

At least now you understand the things that were explained in the movie.

I remember thinking the same thing. If the yellow sun can keep her safe from the poison, why not just take the dog to a yellow sun.

I would assume they didn't know the yellow sun would help with the poison? SG did struggle with it at first so maybe they just didn't know?

Or maybe it was just because she was under the yellow sun when she ingested the poison that helped vs being under the red sun when it hit the dog. Also, the dog had it shot into him with the poison dart vs SG drinking it.

How did this movie flop so bad? I wanted to see it based on the trailers, but I guess I'll wait for streaming.

It flopped because its Supergirl and nobody gives a **** about Supergirl.

It blows my mind how obvious this is to regular folks like us but they don't see it in Hollywood

Phase 4 movies in Phase 1, that's all there is to it.

In this particular case, I wouldn't even blame all of "hollywood". This falls squarely on the shoulders of James Gunn and his misguided pet projects since taken over DC.

That guy obviously didn't watch this movie. Because all those plot holes were explained in the movie. I was assured of that,

I was bored last night and curious enough to watch this. It's down to a 5.9 on IMDB.

I actually thought it was better than Superman, but that bar is low for me. I would give it a 6 out of 10 so 5.9 on IMDB is about right.

Nothing really woke in it. It was just a ho hum film. I do not really like this Milly chick as Supergirl for no other reason than she's kind of hard to look at and I find her annoying which is petty of me, but that's just my truth. Please respect it.

It looked like they had Jason Momoa wearing a muscle suit which doesn't make sense considering how good of shape he is normally in. However, I did see recently on something where he let himself go (maybe it was a clip from Minecraft?) so maybe this was filmed after that, and they were unable to use him au natural.

Music sucked and was irrelevant.

Someone above put this perfectly why it failed - it's a phase 4 movie released in phase 1 which seems to be a hangup for Gunn. His future as DC head does not look good.

I just watched since it was on HBO Max. The nurse lady explained that he was too weak and taking him off planet would kill him. So, they did actually explain this.

She was able to handle it because (a) the yellow sun vs red and (b) takes a lot longer to digest a poison versus the straight shot to the blood stream that he got.

Overall it was fun but flat. I didn't really ever connect with her characters.

The songs they picked here great, but they didn't really fit into the flow of the movie that well.

It felt like "what if we made Guardians of The Galaxy but with Supergirl". Too much style and approach was copped from GOTG.

Oh well. It was worth a free watch.

You're undoubtedly paying for HBO Max, so not free.

my CC gives me credit for hbo so I'm not paying for it. Also, it was worth a truly free watch.

Big pile of meh. Not as bad as people made it out to be but very lackluster and I didn't give a **** about anything the whole movie. Jason Mamoa was weird though, and the music felt very forced.
