Paranormal Activity had a smaller budget.

Quote:

The original Paranormal Activity (2007) had an incredibly small production budget of just $15,000. Director Oren Peli financed the film himself, shooting mostly in his own house. When Paramount Pictures acquired the film later, they invested an additional $200,000 in post-production and marketing, bringing the total overall investment to around $215,000.

Not sure if they're not counting it because it wasn't number 1 opening weekend, but Wiki says it did hit #1 several days of its release.

Either way, cool trivia but a bit cherrypicky imo.

While not this century, I see your Paranormal Activity and raise you Blair Witch Project

$60,000 budget
$500,000 post production edits
$248,600,000 worldwide.

Horror/scary movies get it done!

Hmmmm, haven't seen it yet, and so i'm asking y'all's opinions on this...does it need a sequel? Is there enough story left to justify a sequel? I feel like so many sequels, especially horror movie sequels, are lesser movies than the original. They stretch a good concept too far and just diminish the overall product.

Although I have heard some people suggest the idea of unrelated stories involving the wish/curse from Obsession in an anthology TV series. I think that might be the best way to go.

A true direct sequel would be extremely difficult and forced but it could absolutely be an "anthology" sequel (same premise, different characters and story).

I assume it's just going to be a wishing willow themed sequel as the only/main tie in.

It has to be anthology

maybe see someone buy a willow after Bear

but not a direct sequel. I will lose all respect for Curry Barker if so
