Enjoyed this movie a lot! When she freaks out at the restaurant was the creepiest for me. I'd be so embarrassed.

haha it's 1 clipped segment of a 2hr pod and it's pretty funny when Simmons list 'pina coladas' as the first reason. I just linked it because it was the most recent tweet sent from the account. Wasn't that deep, just a fun convo.


Wasn't specifically aiming at your post, and its just the algo that is feeding it to me, I just hate the AI engagement bait that social media is littered with now. Used to be you could easily discern the buzzfeed-esque "things you didn't know about Kubrick movies". Now AI is posting 4 paragraphs on extracted minutiae just to catch your eye.

I thought this was very average. I assume its success is based on viral hype from the grassroots word of mouth marketing and the fact that it was a low budget independent film. I don't think this exact movie would have been successful if released by a big studio with a traditional marketing campaign.

The girl was great, but there are probably thousands of people that could have done just as well. It's not hard to play over the top crazy. I could see the actress having future success based on her being really good looking and charismatic, but I also wouldn't be surprised if her career doesn't go much further than this.

It wasn't just about her being crazy, it was how she was going in and out of wish Nikki and real Nikki. Especially in the first half of the movie.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. My daughter (25 years old) and her friends really liked it and suggested it. My wife and I went based on that and the hype. She hated it. I didn't exactly like it, but found it interesting with some good ideas that made me think for a few days. I'm glad I saw it, but I wouldn't watch it again.

well that was the wildest movie ive seen since that demi moore flick where she tries to reverse aging.

my biggest gripe is the got damn sound engineers that force you to turn the volume up to hear the dialogue, only to be startled/annoyed/wondering if your speakers are blown just a moment later when the effects hit.

Really bummed they banned Van Lathan from this one because "How Would Van Lathan Have Gotten out of This?" would have been fantastic.

This movie freaked me the hell out. I rmember my dad talking about how scary he found "Fatal Attraction" back in the 80's. I have not seen it, but no way it's as horrifying as this one. Still a fun ride though!

I watch pretty much every movie with headphones and subtitles now, if watching by myself. If wife is joining, we always have subtitles.

I'm the same way, I can't remember exactly what I was watching when I decided subtitles were the way to go, but I'm sure it was a British show, something like Peaky Blinders, where the characters are speaking English but because of the accents it was hard to follow. I've continued to watch TV and movies that way because I felt like I was getting the full picture of what was doing on. You can actually pick up on things you wouldn't have seen or heard otherwise. Sometimes there's things going on in the background like a conversation that there's no way you can hear, but it'll end up in the subtitles. Once I was watching an episode of Industry and you could read Rishi talking trash to someone over the phone but you couldn't hear any of it on the TV. Sadly I learned this in my 40's and my parents have only recently discovered this at my direction.

It's also nice because sometimes whether it's a movie, or TV, the volume seems to fluctuate on my TV. I don't know if it's the TV itself, or what I'm watching, but it can go from way too quiet to way too loud in a hurry.

I do subtitles as well but I'm half deaf now.
I don't love movie theaters as much as I did back in the day. My kids enjoy them though so that's my joy.
