My daily allotment of data disappeared overnight so I can't download it right before it renews tonight like I planned. Not sure if I want to risk downloading it when my data renews tonight and risk not having Internet all day tomorrow.

Solid episode.

I wonder if Barb really is a good person and Coop losing his career and separating from her is to protect her cover so she and Janey can still get a good vault. She may become a mole of sort? I like that she's become a more complex character.

Two episodes left!
Thanks and gig'em

I thought it was interesting that Wilzig was prewar too.

Also, we never found out everything about Moldaver. I'm wondering how he knew her. Was she Enclave too?

Just finished the episode. I was so freaking pumped to finally get a super mutant! I had completely forgot we heard his voice in the S2 trailer. That was so freaking cool.

Uranium Fever. Hell. Yes. I ALWAYS have the radio on, when I play Fallout.

This season is wild. I'm so freaking invested in every single storyline, even the vault dwellers. This is all just wild, Fallout fun.

Question is why. Do they just keep random scientists on ice?

At least in the games, there are other ways for pre-War folks to still be kicking around.

Well, my friend, this is what we could call a "Chekhov's Gun" situation. I'm sure they will explain this to us, moving forward.

However, it's been fairly established that many important employees at the major corporations have found a way to persist. Most of which seem to be through cryo-freeze. I'm sure it's not as prevalent as the show makes it, but this show is centering around the management and C-level class of these mega-corps.

I also agree with what others have hypothesized and that the Enclave is going to turn out even more sinister than it ever has been, possibly magnitudes above corporations like Valt-Tec or RobCo. They would most definitely have a plan to continue on after the bombs drop and I'm sure they would want to maintain their top scientists.

We also know that Wilzig knew Lucy's last name, meaning he knew her father. I can only assume he had interactions with Hank during the Shady Sands incident. I would also guess he knew Hank before the bombs, but that doesn't explain how he knew who Lucy was. That's too many coincidences with Wilzig being involved in these plotlines, which tells me he was at least an important scientist. I mean, he had his own private little lab at the Enclave.

The enclave are essentially just American nazis. At least in FO3, the idea was the just wipe out anything that wasn't them with American exceptionalism being the driver for their genocidal ideas. I don't think it's by accident that the doctors name Siggi Wilzig is the same name as a famous holocaust survivor. But we'll get a good idea of why everything seems more broken with no pockets of a growing civilization like in the game. The enclave is a good bet as the essentially being "the man" and holding everybody down.

I debated going into a bit more detail (spoiler tagged of course) but thought better of it.

in which game do we learn that? It's been many years since I played FO3 or 4 (I replay new Vegas semi regularly lol) and remember the Enclave being simply the remnants of the U.S. Government, shrouded in secrecy, but in opposition to the Brotherhood of Steel over prewar technology

I don't recall any Nazi reveals but again, it's been years. I do remember in FO3 or 4, their scouting drones roam.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

I'm in the same boat. I think it's been around 15 years or so since I played FO3. If the Enclave is the main antagonist in FO3, then I have absolutely no recollection of that.

I do also remember the Enclave drones flying around.

My understanding of them is the same as yours. The American Nazi thing was either a FO or FO2 reveal or something from dialogue in FO3 I simply don't remember.

ETA: Added spoiler tags, though my post is just saying I don't remember any of this, lol.

I should be more clear. Not actual nazis in the government like hydra was in winter soldier but essentially people who want to make a perfect race and who will use the FEV to kill everybody who's imperfect in their eyes. They'll be carrying the banner of the prewar USA.

And the two things that would motivate coop to get involved would be his family and staying alive long enough to see them. If the McKade is going to wipe out all mutants and ghouls, then that'll motivate him to fight in a side as opposed to going it alone

Wow, what a revealing episode.

As mentioned, we got super mutants (my favorite enemy) and the Enclave. We also get a short scene that didn't look like much at first, but shows Betty likely knows far more after Barb asked her to get all the info on the cold fusion.

I wonder if they could be playing the long game together.

So super mutants are bad guys in the game? I guess it's hard to tell who is necessarily bad and good. In the show, the only good guys seem to be the three main characters. I figured the super mutant wanting to help the ghoul meant he was a good guy.

As a general rule, everyone is a bad guy in the game. The different major factions only like you while you're not in a faction, and that's only because they want to recruit you. What little 'normal' people there are around are good, but that doesn't mean they are immediately inviting.

The tv show does a pretty decent job of showing you that the wasteland is out to kill you at every turn. Whether it be a radroach, super mutant, BoS blowhard, ghoul, random robot, or a 50 year old trap that someone set around their camp before dying.

But to answer your question more specifically, there are a handful of super mutants in the games that are good. They are noticeably more intelligent than your average mutant. However, the vast majority are bad and will try to kill you on sight.

Have we seen any regular mutants in this game yet? Those were all the people in that one vault from season one, correct? Like one eye guy?
