Excitement level ratcheting back up for tomorrow night

Which reminds me - my wife and I met a guy before the Tuesday show last week who was travelling around to THIRTY-FOUR...yes, 34...shows across the globe for this tour. And has the front row VIP package for each one. He said he gets something signed at each stop and is apparently making some art project out of it. He also claimed to also make documentaries so not sure if he's chronicling things along the way.

Mentioned bitcoin earnings are helping him fund this adventure. Social media account looks legit but you never know these days...

If he is getting the Limelight package each time, that's $4000-$5000 per stop.

Yeah...I stopped mathing his trip after a while. I was also 4000-5000 drinks deep at that point.

I feel cheap as only opted for 2 shows on this tour, starting (hopefully) tomorrow with the Closer to the Heart package. Later show is Florida but can't remember that package (in wife's account).

We enjoyed the Closer to the Heart package. Nice swag included and the lounge pre-show had decent food and some cool memorabilia to drool over.

When you exit the lounge you'll be walking through the service area under the seating. There is a men's room a hundred yards or so from the lounge which was virtually empty. Highly encourage you to use it there because the restrooms closer to the seating areas had lines that looked to be a hundred people deep.

Merry Rush-mas to all of us heading to the show tonight! Ged (and Dottie) looks ready to go, per his socials.

Thanks for the tips!

Looks like we've got the Stick It Out package for Hollywood, FL. My wife didn't remember that means we are in the pit, standing. Let's see how she manages tonight.

You're welcome! Even with our tickets in the 12th row on the floor, we had to stand through the entire show. My recently surgically repaired ankle let me hear about it the next day. Ha

Was tempted to drive up from Houston. Just looked at Ticketmaster. That place is gonna be half empty. Crazy - I could get 5th row for about $450 - what I paid for the original Friday show in section 124. Resells are cheaper than standard admission tix right now.
Feel bad for the fans - this show was originally sold out and looks like several thousand got refunds and couldn't make tonight.

I'm here for my second show. Saw Sunday the 28th.

It's not that bad it's about 2/3 full. But yeah the first one I saw was packed.

Picked up a cheap ticket so I decided to go.

Three songs in it is following La night 3 which is the entire reason I came. Hell yeah. All of MP in set 2.

And I got all of 2112 in the first show. So lucky.

Geddy sounds great. Same as first show. Strong and hitting the high notes with power.

First time I have seen them do La Villa Strangiato live. Effing awesome.

EDIT - they did it on R30 I forgot.

Agreed. So glad I went twice.

La Villa and By Tor were fantastic had not seen those since R30 tour.
And of course hearing Moving Pictures in full.

The June 28 and July 11 FW setlists were the same as LA Night 2 and 3.

Geddy sounded great held up vocally all night as good as the show on June 28.
Anika was killing it. Just perfect and the crowd reacted to her big moments every time.
I felt like this setlist showcased how great Alex is more than the first one I saw.

Loren Gold was featured on a new piano intro to The Camera Eye. I really feel like they had him more visible in general and with spotlights even at times. Compared to the first show I could see him much more prominently. Really the first show I just felt like I knew he was there but in the dark the entire time. But it might have been a little bit of the angle I had and being closer to the stage.

Camera Eye and La Villa intros were great!

Alex played better last night than the 28th

Kinda crazy how it felt like 2 entirely different shows when there were only 7 songs unique to each night. But the order makes them feel different.

June 28:
The Analog Kid
Freewill
Leave That Thing Alone
The Trees
Animate
A Passage to Bangkok
Finding My Way - encore first song

July 11:
Dreamline
Red Sector A
La Villa Strangiato
New World Man
The Camera eye
Vital Signs
By Tor and Snow Dog - encore first song

Overlap was the 10 core songs they play every night (with 2 versions of 2112) plus Anthem, Headlong Flight, Red Barchetta, Witch Hunt, and Closer To The Heart.

I guess that was it - I'm a drummer not a guitar guy so kinda clueless - I only knew I felt like he was on fire at times last night.

Incredible night. First time seeing them for me and my wife. Geddy hit some notes that I didn't think he'd make…especially coming off an illness. Sounded really good. And Anika is absolutely legit. Not that I didn't think she wasn't, but seeing her chops live was impressive. Dickies Arena is a great venue too. Easy in (especially with VIP), clean, convenient food/drinks. Only being 2/3 full helped the bathroom lines too!

If you're going VIP Monday night, if the merch line at the south doors where you enter is long, follow the concourse around to the west side of the arena. There is another merch table there as well. Not sure if it's a different set of items, but the shirts/hats were for sure all the same and zero line.

It's all great but a few really memorable moments for me:

6:40 - Xanadu to start of course they just looked so ready to play, as they kick it into gear they all go over by Anika and smiles all around. They just love playing.
49:40 - La Villa Strangiato - amazing
1:14:20 - Tom Sawyer with South Park intro and all of MP particularly loved YYZ
1:36:44 - The Camera Eye intro and Alex just shredding the end
2:18:20 - By Tor and Snow Dog the guys (and Anika) had so much fun on that

What's amazing about Anika, we all went into the tour thinking about what we are gonna miss (of course we miss Neil) and now it's looking forward to what she's gonna bring.
I like her Rick Beato interview but I hope she sits down with him again or someone else now that the tour has started. I'd ask what are her fav songs to play, most difficult to play, any songs from their catalog she'd love to add, anything she'd rather not play, how the Rush fans have welcomed her.

Just heard Eddie Trunk say on his SXM show that a Rush residency next year in Las Vegas at the Sphere is a "done deal", according to two reliable sources.

Something I forgot to ask the other day about the fish tank prop thing on the stage next to Geddy:

Who are some of the faces that they show "swimming" in it when it's not just a random graphic or seahorse, etc.? I saw Les Claypool, Paul Rudd, and Jason Segal. Also thought I saw Chad Smith from RHCP but couldn't tell from my seats. Several other people were shown but I couldn't make them out.
New World Ag

Yeah Chad Smith was one, though it may have been Will Farrell.

It was right about 8pm sharp Saturday night.

7:45 on June 28.

Yeah Setlist website is being updated but I don't know if it should be trusted yet.

Seems to be a different setlist. Sometimes it is inaccurate though until people correct it.

Xanadu
Far Cry - in place of Limelight from LA Night 4
Subdivisions
The Pass
Freewill
Bravado

Zombie Jon Snow
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Nope another difference.

La Villa Strangiato - not played on LA Night 4 instead of The Camera Eye
The Trees
The Anarchist
Spirit of the Radio

With the two that were changed...will be interesting to see if Limelight and Camera Eye show up in set 2 - perhaps they are playing all of MP again like they did for LA and FW Night 3.

TBD
