I think she was a singer before going all in on acting and just went by Zendaya as her stage name. Kinda like Beyonce or Cher or Prince

More clip leaks. The modern accents are distracting in the out of context clips but I guess if you watch the entire film maybe it probably settles in as normal after a few minutes and is unnoticeable.

Are we expecting them to all speak with a British accent which for some reason seems to be the norm for historic pieces

It's not even that Ellen runs like a girl, it's that Ellen looks like someone who has never run before in their life.

How does that happen?

Not watching it but this reminds me of Captain Marvel. We had the same reaction then about what's her face being extremely unathletic looking when she ran in that film. At least she is hot.

There were people on this site insisting she was mid at best. That they see five better looking girls walking down the streets of Houston every day, etc.

So there seems to be a lot of accusations that Page was portraying Achilles but due to the backlash when the cast was released Nolan changed the character to Sinon in post production. Does that seem plausible?

Huh? Prince wasn't a big star when he released his first album in 1978. He really didn't even become a big star until his 5th album in 1982.

Is Achilles a character that's in the movie? If yes, then it is certainly plausible

How long do you want to ignore this user?
That is not plausible at all, for many reasons.

The biggest? They are pumping this movie for 70mm IMAX and other film presentations. That stuff takes time to print and get sent out to theaters. There is no way they would be able to re-edit, re-print, and re-distribute all that in the time since the backlash.

But its funny that its easier to believe/suggest that, than to admit that people started hating on/dumping on a movie based on an unconfirmed internet rumor that did in fact turn out to be totally false.

After a 98% on RT, plenty of non-Hollywood types loving it, and even a number of doubters admitting it's great, you've now resorted to posting reactions from 1) a guy who just watched a ****ty illegal cam rip of the movie online, and has been hating on the movie, sight unseen, for days prior to that, along with 2) a guy who still hasn't even seen the movie, but hated a minute-and-a-half of footage he randomly saw from the same illegal cam rip? Someone else who was already clearly predisposed to hating it regardless, based on the rest of his comments. And these over-the-top disgruntled reactions are somehow proof of something in your eyes?

This is so desperate, man.

People are of course entitled to their opinions, and I won't at all begrudge anyone here for not liking the movie, but good lord, dude, just let it go. You're now doing exactly what you accused me of doing, just in the opposite direction, except neither of these chuds even saw the movie in theaters, and both have a history of ****ting all over it before they even saw it, in really gross fashion too (the first guy calls Page a "*****" and both just come across as really angry people in general).

This is so sad and gross.

Oh snap, only 96% RT now. How low will it go? I wonder how the general audience will rate it. You know, all the "modern people" this movie was made for.

You do realize that rotten tomatoes is basically 10+ years into be astroturfed right? The second it became influential enough to stop people from going and seeing bad movies the movie industry moved against rottentomatoes.

And wow this website is complete garbage now. They've assumed the final form of killing an institution and wearing it skin like a suit. Ratings aren't even on the home page. It used to be one rating that was pretty good judge of movies. Then it got split into critics and average movie goers. Which was also a pretty good judge of movies.

Now its Tomatometer and Popcornmeter which blurs who gets sorted into each category.

And now there are whole campaigns to tighten reviews, spike the tomato rating like its a gamma squeeze on a stock and then blast a marketing campaign about how good of a tomato rating it is.

The "movie industry moved against rottentomatoes", eh? Very dramatic.

I guess I could give some credence to what you are saying if I never saw a big budget movie from the "movie industry" get low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. But I do, often. Also, the site still is, at it's core, a review aggregator. The site doesn't employ the reviewers and in theory has no direct influence over them. I haven't seen the ratings from critics (and I always used "Top Critics", it wasn't just 1 score 10 years ago you could further dissect) change in their trends over the years. Of course there are marketing campaigns to seize on good reviews, that is nothing new in the Rotten Tomatoes era.

On the topic at hand you are referring to, there is no differing "opinion". You are either a sane, rational human, or you support and enable a severe mental issue that is diagnosed as such. If you are an adult, have at it - don't care if you want to butcher yourself and elevate your suicide risk to affliction leading levels. Edit: I do feel immensely sorry for these folks because they are not getting the help they so desperately need.

But, if you are a minor and your parents or guardians are encouraging it, then those adults deserve to lose their children and rot in prison or worse. That will be last comment on the subject.

I'm now returning to being an objective consumer of The Odyssey.

I don't get the Zendaya hate (although her name is kinda annoying and she is a string bean and still kind of seems like a teenager as opposed to 29 y/o)....she is beautiful and has a beautiful smile to me...just not sure you ever see it in movies. Ever.

Literally the highest rated movie of Nolan's career, and one of the highest rated movies of the year.

I'm sure the haters will keep bringing the cope, saying these reviews are somehow all "shills," wait until "real" people see it, yada yada yada, but this has already blown up in their faces, and I'm not going to let them forget it.

Is this accurate?!

The Prestige at 76% is criminal. Rises and Dunkirk both better than Prestige and Interstellar! What!? And Rises = Inception. Make it make sense!

I honestly like The Prestige the best out of all. Truly boggles me how it's that low on RT. I never knew!
