The barrier is the size and look of a gas giant, like Jupiter.

It is concealing a normal looking M class planet like Earth( yes I know I switched Star franchises)

Interesting that the last message from the Republic was saying the Jedi are all traitors.
Means Palpatine decided to keep At Attin silent and hidden and not ever used against him.
Imagine the Rebel Alliance with access to that mint!
Yeah, so I can't help but wonder if Palpatine knew about it, or if it was some automated transmission to the hidden planets that was established previously. Maybe part of the reason their hadn't been an emissary to the planet in so long was b/c Palpatine dissolved the Republic? Or the Clone Wars interrupted things? We still don't have any idea how long ago that planet was established, hidden, and when the first pirate found it. All references to their ship was it being a relic, etc.

We just finished this tonight with the last two episodes. So much fun. Not overly ambitious. Not trying to make any kind of broader point or move any overarching theme. Just fun. So enjoyable.

So is this show any good?

Bad batch is about as kiddy as I wanna go for Star Wars.

Is it a cheese fest or worth it?

It's great! Not too kiddy at all. More of a Goonies like adventure show.

Feels like an 80's movie.

Skeleton Crew was possibly the most fun Star Wars has ever been. That was great storytelling with great characters. SM-33 might be our new favorite droid. I would love to see more shows like it.

My hope for the future of Star Wars is starting to be restored.

Just finished it last night and I was pleasantly surprised by the series. It was kind of like Goonies in space. Definitely more of a kid movie, but it's the first series I've actually looked forwards to the next episode of since andor. Hope it sticks.

The issue is this series has the lowest viewership of any SW disney+ series, even worse than the Acolyte, which I believe is the reason it's so low. People have been burned too many times as just don't want to invest time into a series that could be terrible.

IF we want more seasons of SC, we need to get the word out so people watch
No matter what!

I will admit that I haven't been interested in watching more because of the young kids angle vs the acolyte, but the ever declining quality of Star Wars content outside of Andor definitely starts to grind on you and isn't helpful to spark interest. Literally everything is mediocre to bad outside of Andor and a few great mando moments.

Watched the finale last night and really enjoyed it, they did a great job making an 80s Amblin style kids adventure without dumbing it down. Loved seeing KB save the day and the reveal of 33 next to her was absolute perfection.

Also thought they did a good job revealing just enough while still saving some mystery for future seasons, we still know very little about At Attin or her sister planets or the Great Work.

I wonder if it was just an abandoned world that continued to operate on its own. After the Clone Wars and fall of the Empire and the emissaries and other people in charge died off it was forgotten about, but as it was run by droids the world was self sustainable.

Still lots of story they could tell, I'm hopeful for a season 2.

I do think there is an age range this show doesn't hit. If you aren't roughly the same age as the kids, or get the Amblin nostalgia built into the show, then it may not be for you. For example my teenagers have seen Goonies and ET, but thought the kids were too young and the show didn't keep their interest. Neither teen finished the show. I watched the majority of it by myself.

My teen loved it. But admittedly she's a bit of a junky. We spent most of the quarantine watching clone wars as part of a chronological viewing of all SW content - movies and shows. Side comment: Anakin turning to the dark side makes a ton more sense in the context of clone wars.

Finally got to watch the last episode with the family. Lots of fun but the big highlight is that this show stood on its own….didnt need any big reveals or surprise characters to show up…

Jude Law was awesome! Definitely the highlight of the show but that doesn't mean the kid actors weren't good….Wim was the worst of the 4 in my opinion….Neel was hard to judge just cause of the costume…..KB and Fern I really liked how they acted….

And I just realized with writing that I was able to remember all the main characters names which is something I'm not usually good at….which gives credit to how good of a job they did developing these characters and making us care about them.

I didn't want a second season of Ashoka, Kenobi, Boba Fett, or the Acolyte….but I want a second season of this!

Unfortunately if numbers don't pick up we aren't going to get it.

Looks like they filmed a flashback scene of the Jedi that Jod talks about meeting briefly. But ultimately left it out, depriving us of a really hot female Jedi.

The directors explained to EW why they didn't keep it.

Ford: "The challenge though was, as fascinating as Jod is, we always wanted to keep it from the kids' perspective. The kids are like, 'I don't understand this guy.' They've never been out in the galaxy and met someone as damaged as him. So I don't think we could have done a flashback in this season."

Watts: "Yeah, not in this season. But what's great about Star Wars is that you start talking about someone's backstory and there's already a history and allure that surrounds it. So you start getting excited about, 'Oh, well, where do you place this person if it's X amount of years ago into this larger galactic timeline?' It's just such a rich world that you can have so many variations and varieties of characters and backstories, and it's just like limitless potential. It's very fun."

Good video from Critical Drinker that I think unfortunately hits the nail on the head regarding the current state of Star Wars under Disney.

Sure. Nothing revolutionary.

He liked Skeleton Crew, thought it was a good, serviceable, fun show.

Unfortunately, Disney has basically used up all their credit with the fans. People are tired of trying to invest their time in what ends up being a crap show.

Add in that he believes a large portion of the current Star Wars fan base is only interested in the "dopamine hit" of Jedis and Skywalkers and Vader. So good shows like Skeleton Crew and great shows like Andor don't have that hook from the original trilogy and therefore just don't garner the attention of the superficial Star Wars fans who only want to see those things. He thinks they need to take a good 5-10 year break from Star Wars content and reset.

Great summary and easter eggs from the finale from New Rockstars.

Amazing trivia from this I didn't know: JJ Abrams named all of the Abednedo alien race, who were created for TFA, after Beastie Boys songs

Would be interesting to hear how Jod survived order 66. he said that he was made to watch while his Jedi trainer was killed, yet he was not killed? Was Anakin the only one to kill younglings, maybe the Clones had a soft spot for younglings?

I think "I was made to watch..." is what he said. Just not sure if it means he was held down and forced, ya know. How literal is he being?

I'd also think Order 66 in the Jedi Temple was different than in the wild years later. Some random group of stormtroopers in the Outer Rim isn't going to worry much about a kid.

I'm guessing Jod and the Jedi were found, but they didn't let the troopers who found him know that Jod could use the force, so he wasn't killed.

This may have been the start of his compulsive tendency to lie about his identity.

I really wish this show had been the first thing Disney had done with Star Wars.

In a vacuum I enjoyed it a lot. But as a show made in the roughly 13th year of Disney Star Wars, it felt like it didn't really move the plot or the franchise.

Really just added/reinforced there are probably all kinds of Old Republic projects/secrets scattered across the galaxy which could make for interesting plot devices for post Episode 9 projects.
