That's a great one. Funny to watch as an adult and try to remember why it seemed scary.Whos Juan said:

Bad movie and it's comically a bad scene in reality , but that lady being turned into a robot in Superman III scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.
So during Covid year the wife and I were making our boys watch old (mostly 80's) movies with us a couple times a week. For whatever reason I had some memory of a memory that The Black Hole was some sort of classic. Probably cause I thought the robots were cool when I was a little kid.maroon barchetta said:
Yeah. The ending of The Black Hole was unnerving for a Disney sci-fi movie.

My kids just gave the WTF look and dad didn't get to pick the movie for awhile.
Yep, though in a way it does seem like they storyboard the series like a horror story.maroon barchetta said:
Lots of scenes from Chernobyl.
Lots.

Oh I forgot about Clan of the Cave Bear. The cave mom falling into the earthquake scarred me for several years! I still avoid crevasses.

Yep. I remember that day well. It was like everyone knew we were all either going to die or have to find a way to live as survivors. The Cold War may not have been a shooting war, but it sucked having the threat of nuclear destruction hanging over your head every day.maroon barchetta said:Bruce Almighty said:

Everybody at school was depressed the next day. It wasn't so much the nukes as it was the horror of surviving.
