So you are going with a company was able to cover up what a giant space station was doing and that nothing would even be exposed by any of those or their family? Or that same company who built a giant space station and committed it to the investigation. Would just let it be out in space and floating on its own.
And double down with that same company being totally clueless when Riley is found and nothing leaking to anyone higher up that clearly would have known about the Romulus events.
Great fun film. The way the story was done just does not match the timeline. And that is OK. It does not work there. So be it.
I've suggested that the lack of recorded evidence on any of these events throughout these movies is a big WTF for me? Even today, we have systems that will audit trail everything entered. Yet this is not the case for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation? I seriously doubt that. But a company with the power they apparently can wield would have the power to keep news of these events from ever seeing the light of day. Do you think that a company with the ability to send a starship to investigate a mysterious signal, with zero regard to the crew's safety, could not also prevent anyone on that outpost who might have observed the break-up of the space station, under threat of death, then I'm not sure what else to tell you. .
As for the Company being clueless when Ripley is found, obviously there would be some executives with full knowledge. That doesn't mean they disseminate that information down the line.
Am I making suppositions? Absolutely. There is nothing in any of the known stories of Alien or Aliens, Alien Isolation, and now Alien Romulus, that speaks to these suppositions. These suppositions just come from an understanding of how powerful entities can be known to operate.
