Well, our home is now Lost Central. My girls did great studying for their last test before the break, so we watched Season 6 LAX 1 and 2, and then when my wife got home, we all watched Season 1 04 - Walkabout.

Season 6 episode 1 is a really fantastic episode, and once you know what you know, you realize (at least I think so) that Bernard and Rose already know they're in the after-life in the first scene on the plane. Rose tells Jack, "You can let go now" and that "They made it." And when Bernard sits down she tells him how much she missed him, to which one of my kids scoffed "He was gone like 5 minutes."

I doubt either of them will figure it out until the series finale, and I hope so as well, because getting those great ending connections are really worth it, and I think my favorite of all is actually Charlie and Claire (and Aaron).

Unfortunately I realized that the appearance of the temple is where I've always felt like the show had its misstep, with Dogen the Japanese stereotype ,another 60 others we've never seen before, and John Lennon Jr. as his sidekick/translator.

They make it sound like the water in the spring has literally never been muddy/cloudy before, but think nothing of it before dumping Sayid in there. And it's just a lot to get introduced to. Dogen refused to speak English even though literally every other person speaks English. Even when he's shouting orders to seal the temple from the MiB, he's still being the a-hole yelling in Japanese and the other guy has to translate.

We've nicknamed Smoke Monster Locke as Smock, and Terry O'Quinn's performance is just next level. I don't think any other actor in the show could pull off the double acting job of him playing relative normal Locke at the airport in the flash sideways and the intensity of the MiB on the island.

My only other eye roll in all this is the fact that Juliet falls seemingly at least 100 feet and takes a hydrogen bomb to the face, but still makes it 20 minutes into Season 6 before dying.

I'm sure this has been asked but where are you watching this? Is it streaming or did you buy? I think my 14 year old would love it.

It came to Netflix in July, we've been watching since. I have no idea what my girls will do with their time when we finish.

My wife is deep into the first season and was commenting that she had never seen any of the actors other than Matthew Fox (Party of 5) and Evangeline Lily (ant-man) in anything else (she's not a LOTR person for Charlie).

Looking up Naveen Andrews (Sayid)'s wikipedia reveals that someone has a type.

When he was 16, he hooked up with his then 30-year-old married math teacher, breaking up her 10-year-marriage and dating her from 1985-1991 (he was 16-22, she was 30-36).

He appears to have dumped her in 1991 after finding out she was pregnant, and their son was born in 1992.

He then hooked up with Barbara Hershey in 1998 and they were together for a decade. Sayid was 29 when they started dating, Hershey was 50.

In 2005, he and Hershey separated briefly and Sayid hooked up with an French actress named Elena Eustache. It was a real walk on the wild side for him. He was 36 and she was a babe of 31.

Just wrapped up the series with my 13 year old son. We started binging in late summer, but sports slowed us down. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I hadn't watched it since it originally aired, so it was like watching it for the first time again. So many things I had forgotten. Afterwards he made a comment that he plans on watching it again when he has kids! Lol

Girls and I have 6 episodes left to finish the series but won't have time before school starts back up unfortunately.

Season 6 has been a lot better than I recall, other than the temple stuff. We watched the Desmond/Charlie-centric epsiode "Happily Ever After" - 6x11 - last night where Desmond realizes what's going on after Charlie drives his car into the water and puts his hand on the window like he did right before he died in Season 3.

Really nice having Charlie back on the show. The moment coming up when he and Claire recognize each other again is just going to wreck my girls emotionally.

The Dr. Linus episode also really stood out.

We're all watching Season 1 with my wife. Just watched Boone die last night. That's a great episode with 1 birth, 1 death, and 2 people falling in love in 43 minutes.

Read this trivia on Wiki

  • Jorge Garcia revealed in an interview that when Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to host the nightly Top Ten list, a few days before "The End" aired, one of the "Top 10 Spoilers for the LOST Finale" was shockingly true. The "spoiler" written for Damon and Carlton to read was "Jack Dies". This left them in a precarious position, not wanting to spoil the fans and not wanting to admit to the Letterman production team that Jack really does die. Damon and Carlton eventually got out of it by telling the Letterman team that the Lost fans would not take things like Jack dying lightly, even as a joke, and had it written out of the Top 10 without anyone knowing it was true. Watched the entire series with the exception of the last two episodes. I couldn't take it anymore. Much like The Walking Dead. It felt as if they had no plan toward the end of the series.

Or he will have the same misconceptions as so many had on what it meant, and it will make for great reading.
Either way, he should watch it.

Easier way to get an ending recap and see how it was connected back to events throughout the whole series. Quick series recap in chronological order starting at 7:26 followed by a finale recap.

Double dipped with the kids tonight with "Everybody Love Hugo" and "The Last Recruit"

What balls these writers have to finally reunite Jin and Sun after 2 years, and then they kill them in the next episode.

In real time,

Season 4 finale where Jin is presumed dead aired on May 28, 2008
Everyone thinks Jin is dead until February 4, 2009
He and Sun reunite on April 20, 2010
They both drown 2 weeks later in the next episode.

Kids and I watched the penultimate episodes of Season 6 today - Across the Sea and What they Died For.

I continue to be really envious of them because they are blown away by every reveal, even though some of them feel pretty hamfisted and invented late in the game. The "light" special effect has not improved with age

Really tough watching them watch Sun and Jin die a few episodes ago. They shoot that final scene really well, you are thinking GTFO at Jin as the water rises even though you know he won't.
