Keith David.
That's the dad from There's Something About Mary, right? I never can remember which one is Keith David and which one is David Keith. Just know there's a black dude and a white dude that both get pretty good minor roles and do well with them.
Also great in Platoon and Oscar-worthy in this forgotten masterpiece:

Always great is stuff is Garret Dillahunt.

He played two amazing character's in Deadwood and delivered one of my favorite lines in the whole series. When his character Jack McCall is on trail for murder and is being feed a lie by his lawyer and it dawns on him what he is being asked to lie about.

Then there's several great scene of him playing poker.

He's also great as the depute in "No Country for Old Men"

Is Timothy Olyphant a big name? He was so great in Justified, but has never been a big name in the movies.

I'd say Olyphant is perfect for this conversation. I don't think he has the "range" of a great character actor, but he's damn good in the right role.

Works for me. I like his parts as well. His part in the girl next door was hilarious. Just not been in a ton of movies, more of a series guy.

David Morse

Contact, The Hurt Locker, Green Mile, Treme, and countless bit parts in more shows than you can you imagine. He can play an a-hole, a nice guy, the hero, the villain. Sometimes he's the lead, and sometimes he's just a guy. And if you ever want to binge a good show that was cancelled too soon, you should give "Hack" a try. Great show.

Morse is one of my favorites. So underrated

Noah Emmerich

He crushed it in The Americans,
Rewatching this now and I'm constantly reminded how perfect he was for the role of Stan Beeman.

His facial twitches, winces and quiet delivery are incredible.

Loving that show more and more as time goes by. The finale is just unbelievably good. So so well done. Have fun and appreciate it! (And ya, Emmerich is phenomenal in it)

Pepe Serna because my dad was buddies with him at Ray HS in Corpus Christi. Character actor that has appeared in hundreds of films getting butchered in a shower with a chain saw in Scarface, getting murdered by a Commie rifle squad in Red Dawn, playing a founding member of the Mexican Mafia in American Me, etc.

Vanth is like one degree of separation from his characters in Justified and Deadwood but he's so good in the part.

That said, he was also pretty entertaining as a suburban dad in Santa Clarita Diet.

I'm 4 eps into Justified. Trying to stick with it but after the first episode it got a little slow. Does it pick up?
