I think I heard a line in season 4 where someone mentions something like creaming his pants every night. It was a "wedding band in Old School" moment for me. I was going to go back later to confirm, but the new commercials on Prime were too irritating.

Shelly could get a little raunchy in her sweet "innocent" way.

I thought I read a few years back that the show hadn't been made available for streaming because they couldn't clear the rights to all the music used in the show. I hope they were able to clear it and didn't just re-dub it. The music was such an important part of that show.

started watching the first season wednesday night

honestly, it seems very dated.

it's interesting to see all of them so young, but the technology is jarring (tapes put into a console in the truck, pay phones with quarters) and the clothes

still struck by the fact that really only John Corbett was in hits (s#x and the City and those greek wedding movies)

Rob Morrow is a good actor but you could show his picture to 100 millenials in the USA today and 98 would not know who he is.

The music all seems good and appropriate to me.

I don't understand why something being "dated" makes it not good.

Who cares if the actors are unrecognizable and the technology is old. What about the great characters and the great writing?

If you're a regular Seinfeld watcher - not heard to get used to the "dated" at all

Have seen George's girlfriend / Jerry's accountant + Susan in cameos so far btw

She dressed it up with jewelry.

When Maggie is on screen, I'm happy. The mole, the boys haircut, the constantly agitated demeanor….. I just like her. I also think the actress playing her role is working with the acting skills of a mid-level high school drama club member.

I like Maggie too. I'm into season 5 now and she doesn't seem as agitated.

I'm only a few episodes in but I felt the need to add to the discussion about what was allowed on prime time television in the early nineties. I was pretty surprised when I heard this exchange between Chris and a radio caller (during episode 4):

Chris: Hey, there! This is Chris In The Morning and we're on the phonelines. Who am I talking too?

Jules: Jules, up on the Koyuk River.

Chris: Hey, Jules, what's on your mind today?

Jules: I went up to Baker's Point this morning to find Holling. He used to make camp there with the Littlejohn boys...

Chris: Cut to the chase, Jules.

Jules: All I saw was a couple of empty beer cans and some used condoms.

I mean this is from an era when The Simpsons were considered controversial.

Closed captioning doesn't like the word "negro", even though it has a historical usage in this country and this episode.

Given the TexAgs discussions on LaserDiscs in the past, Marilyn's comment is funny.
