Ok, just read the series and really liked it. You're right, if done true to the comic it could make a great film with some serious heart to it.

But where the hell does Lobo fit in, because I sure didn't see him in the comic? Maybe he's just thrown in a little at the end as a kind of teaser for a villian in future films?

Lobo was originally supposed to be part of the book, and had Supergirl and Lobo traveling around together. Tom King, who wrote the book and worked on the script, probably wanted to bring some of the original elements back.

I could see Lobo being a big reason why that girl who seeks out Supergirl's world got destroyed, or him being a bounty hunter on the lookout for the same guy Supergirl is after.

Thanks, and glad to see King is involved with the script. If done true to the comic then this movie would definitely have a different tone from 90% of comic book movies, in a good way.

In other words, he's saying the "people just don't care" thing was only one reason, and he's talking mostly about women, in particular, which makes total sense. I don't know what's so controversial about that.

Also, Muschietti didn't cast the character, Zack Snyder did.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the movie at all - I thought it was terrible - but on a human level Muschietti is one of the good guys. I met him at a bar a few years ago, through a mutual friend, and he could not have more cool or down to earth, while every anecdote I've heard about him outside of that interaction has only reinforced my experience. He's a super chill dude and well-liked in the industry. He just happened to make a ****ty movie this go-around, but even if he thinks it's better than we do, that's okay.

We also know Warner Bros mangled the movie to death, when the studio was at one of its most tumultuous /rudderless times, and seeing as he's still employed by them, he probably doesn't want to ****-talk them right now, even if it was under different leadership.

Wasn't it already announced that the Synder-verse was dead before this released? So it had a star who was in the news for every horrible reason short of pulling an OJ, tied to a dead IP, with a studio that likely dictated 90% of what could and could not make it to film. This is not to absolve the direction, I really disliked everything about that film, but it wasn't going to succeed short of hiring Nolan to make it.

They announced the end of the DCEU at some point either during or after production (way before the movie came out), then there was all the Ezra drama, then the movie was delayed for like a year or more, at which point Warner Bros really started screwing with it, all while Discovery was taking ownership of the studio, Gunn was hired, etc. Basically, it was a massive cluster****, which hardly any movie of this type could have endured.

I still can't believe Ezra survived that. Complete psycho POS human.

And I see no issue with this guy's comments either. The Flash has always been a secondary character and why would women like a dude who is dressed head to toe in a red suit who runs fast.

Especially when you have some genderfluid criminal playing him as a neurodivergent loser.

Not that I'm hating on people on the spectrum, just that the Flash is supposed to have a personality kind of similar to spiderman, not similar to Jesse Eisenberg in Zombieland.

Even if you've never read a comic, read Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. It's a short read with amazing writing and even better art.

anything Flash related was doomed to fail when it decided to cast him in the role and write the character the way they did. If anything its an easy copout for them that he turned out to be a POS in real life
