Iron Maiden should be touring next year, AC/DC had their tour planned in 2020 so who knows if they rebook, Metallica on tour in the US this and next year, GNR on tour this fall as well (last year PIT prices for Detroit and Chicago fell to $50 due to low sales day of), Ozzy is possibly not touring ever again and just doing these one offs so he's a good one to see and Tool I am not really familiar with but know their fanbase is rabid. But I strongly believe that if you were to go all the way to Indio for this, PIT is the way to go, that $600 GA is definitely a cheap option but you will only see the screens from a mile away.

It's similar to justify the $1600 like with Desert Trip where at Desert a PIT for a Stones show in the US 2019/2021 tour was $450 (before fees), Paul McCartney does seated floor for his shows so a floor can range (I did score floor at Globe Life 2019 for under $280), Roger Waters was $375ish after fees for front row last year, The Who sell their front rows as a VIP but you can score a floor for $300-400 range. No idea on Dylan or Neil Young.

To me it seems more of a novelty thing, to be able to say you were there, as being reallistic I don't think Danny Wimmer has the money to book 3 out of those 6 bands at the same festival and C3 only books 1 legacy headliner nowadays.

My plan is to book a Southwest flight to LAX, that way if PIT resale drops like Desert Trip did, I may be able to pull it off. For Coachella I took the LAX 3.5 hr shuttle and I camped on-site. But if prices never dip I still have that ACL Weekend 1 wristband to use and Southwest credit that I could just use for something else.
I will be shocked if sales aren't off the charts. As you mentioned ACDC and Ozzy may never tour again. Maiden is always great and has a fan base willing to spend.cash. Plus the fan base is startimg.to empty nest and has cash to burn.

I wish you luck though!

I've been to the field in Indio.

First time was when the Eagles were headlining Stagecoach. Saw a pair of tickets day of... purchased that afternoon... wife and I head down to Indio (<50 miles).

Traffic. Traffic. Traffic. It was miserable. Parking lots (dirt) filled. Ended parking >.5 mile away... walking to the gates on dirt roads (Indio). By the time we reached the gates, and after witnessing more cars and people... said to the wife, "I'm not ****ing doing this at 1A".

We sold our tickets to a couple standing in the ticket line, for what we paid, and headed to a casino

Next time we went was after I found on CL a neighborhood parking pass/access (good old days, wink/wink). Drove down to Indio... bought the dashboard pass... and proceeded to drive past police lines... sheriff lines... any line, and acting like we owned the place.

Parked in a VIP lot (owning it) and walked up to the rear entrance. Kid asks for our tickets. I'm, "Oh, we've been doing this for years. Live next door. Always park in VIP at the rear. Roll in, walk to the front entrance gate, grab our tickets at will-call, walk back in, enjoy the show".

For Power Trip... that $650 general? Nope. Like another poster said... if you want to be a "mile away". Wife and I stuck to the smaller stages most interested in seeing BJ Thomas... Merle Haggard.

I'll be waiting for those bands to hit LA sometime this year or next... in a stadium or arena. Not interested in hassling with a bunch of out-of-town LA posers wanting to bump their instagrap.

Went to Taylor Swift last night, and I was completely blown away. I don't think I've ever been to a pop show before, so I can really only compare to rock shows, but she absolutely brought it for three straight hours. The stadium was legit as loud as I've heard any band, maybe even louder. My only complaint is that I wasn't really into the couple slower/less known songs she played. However, that's probably on me because everyone else in the crowd seemed to be going nuts and singing along. I'm just not as familiar with her catalog. Had she just stuck to her big hits, she could have still had a two hour show that never let up.

Anyways, she was definitely at the top of her game, and I don't think any Swift fan will complain about dropping a couple hundred per ticket. I would have never thought a Taylor Swift crowd could stand up to a Metallica show, but they did. Very impressive.

Wife has always wanted to see Weezer so taking her to the ?irving? Show in june.

Saw Seinfeld last month in Dallas. Probably Nate Bargatze in November in Vegas. Not music but shows nonetheless.

Also not a concert but I saw Eddie Trunk at The Sanctuary in McKinney a couple of weeks ago. The Winery Dogs joined him for a q&a.

My first Billy Strings show was at White Oak indoors December 2021. My next will be at the big Moody arena in Austin. Sigh.

Never been to an outdoors show there although that's where I was planning on attending Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. That might be brutal on June 16th.

Saw Old Crow Medicine Show this past Friday at the newly reopened Longhorn Ballroom in south Dallas.
They were ok, but halfway through they show they brought out REK for a surprise appearance, he did Walkin' Cane and after he left the crowd chanted ROBERT EARL KEEN for what seemed like minutes while OCMS just kinda stood there waiting...was pretty funny.

From what i gathered there's only about 2 original members of OCMS left, the rest of the band was trying too hard, it was way too hokey, played way too many covers.
But Longhorn Ballroom was a nice venue and i'll be back for sure.

2 days later and Power Trip hasn't sold out unlike Desert Trip which sold out in under 5 hours, so a 2nd weekend seems unlikely. I stand by my prediction resale will drop for this. Still playing the long game but I have hopes

Desert Trip was a fairly cheap ticket the weeks leading up to it. This one will likely tank as well.

PJ board is saying the leak showed Ft. Worth on 9/13 with a possible 9/15 date to be added. Guess they are playing at Dickies Arena.

That would be surprising since it says the capacity is only 14,000. Either way I'm way in for all Texas dates. I'm shocked they are already going back on tour again after last year.

interesting trivia...

per setlist.fm

Pearl Jam has never played in Ft. Worth
PJ in dallas played 8 times from 1991-1993, and only 4 times since.
Almost 10 years since a PJ show in TX.
20 years since PJ played in Houston.

They clearly don't like TX.

This is incorrect. I saw them 3 nights October 2020 (2 Woodlands and 1 Dallas), 3 nights in 2003 (Woodlands, Dallas, San Antonio), and Dallas 2013. They also played ACL 2014.

ETA: I forgot about Reunion Arena 1998 as well.

per Pearl Jam's tour history on their website, they played no shows in 2020. That was the cancelled/rescheduled tour.

PJ at the Moody is another kicker to what looks to be a dull ACL. Foo Fighters headlining, who are a good band but play everywhere, so no "rare" Top 3 headliner at ACL unless the top legacy spot goes to someone else.
