Grabbed tickets to Newport Folk. Still on the fence on whether I'm going. Will wait to see the lineup and what the rest of my summer looks like

Tedeschi Trucks Band is coming back to Texas for the first time since 2019. Looks like they'll be in San Antonio, Houston (Sugar Land), Dallas, Austin and Fort Worth in the beginning of May. It will be nice to hear songs from "I Am the Moon" live.

I love TTB, saw them at their Dallas show at Majestic Theater, while they sounded great, the show seemed incredible stale probably due to the concert goers and the venue, just sitting the entire time, no excitement from the crowd at all (lot of olds)

Just snagged my GA ticket for Pixies. Yeah buddy!

Only potential conflict is if my daughters soccer team makes regionals this year, but I'll happily give up the ticket if that happens.

I feel like I'm missing one.

So far I just have tickets for Metallica 8/18 & 8/20 at Jerryworld. Really thinking about Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper, but they're playing in Dallas the week after

This might be a fun show, but once again Houston gets the shaft. Why? We're the 4th largest city in the country. Do artists just think Houston fans will travel to Austin or Dallas if we want to see them that badly? Can Houston not support a tour stop? A show like this I definitely wouldn't drive to see, but wouldn't mind seeing if it came to Houston.

Promoters are the ones who work to get bands to play specific cities. So if promoters in Houston didn't think there was a market, or couldn't work out a venue and costs with the bands, then it's as much on them as anyone.

I felt like I missed a ton of smaller and mid level shows living in Houston. Big ones like metallica weren't a problem, but something like you linked above. I saw it time and time again.

I moved to Denver and all of a sudden these opportunities were always there. Denver is rarely skipped owing to its isolated location.

Always make time out of my day to see Ghost. Almost conflicted with Metallica in Dallas.

Houston could support a tour stop.

The Woodlands can't though.

This is a "shed/ampitheatre" tour, and Houston proper doesn't have one.

Definitely will be at the VA show -- interesting pairing with Amon Amarth that I don't hate one bit.

Any day I'm seeing a legit metal band (I don't mean 5 finger dp or godsmack kind of stuff..) in a large venue is always nice.

Like seeing Behemoth and Gojira at a basketball arena (opening for slipknot) or Opeth, Gorjia, and Devin Townsend at Red Rocks!

Lyle Lovett last night. Took my wife. We don't know his music at all and had never seen him and aren't really country or Americana fans, but I wanted to see him at least once.

Fantastic show. Really a good time. And he works the crowd so well with his storytelling and humor.

His band was fantastic. Really talented folks.

In the past week I've got to see Roscoe Beck and Leeland Sklar on bass so that's a solid week.

Ton of new Depeche Mode dates out today. I'm definitely in for Sunday, October 1st in Dallas the day after Ags vs Ark at Jerry World. Just hoping the ticket prices aren't as insane as upcoming San Antonio and Las Vegas dates now that there are a lot more shows. Probably wishful thinking.

We saw Pony Bradshaw at Sam's Burger Joint in San Antonio last night! He's a really talented singer that kept the crowd engaged with some occasional stories but mostly they just burned through their set. Good energy and great sound all around! We'll definitely be seeing him again when he plays Devil's Backbone Tavern on April 7th.

I've never been the biggest concert person, but my wife loves them (especially EDM shows). I will say I'm in the Tyler Childers book of really wanting to see him, but no way in hell am I paying $200+ for lawn GA. His level of star power used to cost $25 at the Hall of Fame. I absolutely despise concert prices right now.

On the docket right now:

Aaron Watson 3/10 Arlington
Cody Johnson 3/11 at the American Rodeo
Seven Lions (4/13)
Some other EDM festival in Fort Worth
Ed Sheeran (5/6) (This will be interesting because the girl who bought all the tickets has kinda been kicked out of my wife's friend group)
Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas (5/19-21)
Probably Fall Out Boy in June
Shane Smith & the Saints - 6/3
Electric Forest in Michigan (6/22-25)
Blink-182 (7/5) in Dallas

Story time.

Not really much of a story. The girl is a pathological liar. Lied about her schooling, her job, and basically everything she does. She'll say she's going to go somewhere or do something and then flake out at the last minute.

She came out and admitted to a bunch of stuff to clear the air in their little group and then got caught lying again in that same conversation. A bunch of the girls are really fed up with it and don't want to hang out with here anymore....until I reminded them that she has the Ed Sheeran tickets and they have to be nice to her for another couple months before cutting her loose lol

I had a friend like that for awhile. He got cut out of a lot of people's lives. It's a shame because he's a lot of fun to hang with and a generous person but he just can't stop lying or bragging.

His wife is wonderful and somehow deals with it but knows it's a problem.

Amen to this. Friends went to the Springsteen show in Austin and said the concert was great, but it still wasn't worth the ticket price. Friends of theirs paid $500 each for tickets one row from the top of Moody (the basketball arena). FYI, I did see Tyler at Willie's picnic and was pretty disappointed. He had an hour long set and played a bunch of unreleased material, a few covers, and only a couple of his more popular songs.

James is a friend of mine from high school. I'm glad to see him finally see some success in music. He's been at it a while. We caught his Houston show and Wednesday and it was great.

We also saw Colter Wall at 713 Saturday night, and I have never been more disappointed in a venue. Their inability to get their sound figured out ruined the show. Someone there also has to have a head injury to think people would pay $200+ to see Tyler Childers there if that's the best they can do.
