I actually like the Margaret Qualley suggestion, but Fanning wouldn't be bad.

I think Qualley would be great.

No clue how legit this is, but my interest is certainly piqued (while it would also potentially explain the Poison Ivy series news)…

GUYS! #TheBatmanPart2

According to a DCULeaks moderator, the user who posted this information sent proof to the moderation team before posting, which adds credibility to the rumor

According to him, Scarlett Johansson is the main villain - a serial killer obsessed with plants. She uses toxins (a realistic version of Poison Ivy). Stan plays Victor Zsasz. She's after the character of Charles Dance, who leads a secret organization made up of the city's most powerful figures (Court of Owls)

I was thinking that the Poison Ivy tv show meant that she would be at least making an appearance in Batman 2.

Sounds like the Poison Ivy character from the 90's cartoon which was an incredible version of Batman.

If they made a live action version of that series it would be incredible.

Batman The Animated Series is the absolute GOAT.

This is exactly like I was saying. They should introduce her in this movie first, to generate interest in the show. Just like The Penguin.

Batman goes to the Public Domain in 2035, so maybe we'll just end up making our own before this comes out.

we got the entire TDK trilogy in 7 years. The 4 Burton/Schumacher movies were done in 8 years. The MCU went from Avengers 1 to Infinity War in 6 years.

Dues this guarantee there with be a third? Hurt the performance of the second?

This is ****ing ridiculous, and definitely sucks, but it at least sounds like it's not Reeves' fault this time, as The Batman Part II is on schedule and has been filming for a month now. Rather, JJ Abams' next blockbuster, which has long since wrapped and was originally scheduled to come out this November, has been pushed an entire year, taking The Batman Part II's old October 1, 2027 date, thus forcing The Batman Part II to move (seeing as both are Warner Bros movies). So blame Abrams for not having his **** together, and his movie needing another year in post-production. That said, one would think WB could have found another 2027 for The Batman Part II, but I guess not.

I don't understand how Hollywood prioritizes movies. It seems like Batman would take precedent over a JJ Abrams movie. Maybe 20 years ago Abrams would have the pull, but everyone knows what his movies are now. There's going to be a bunch of sun flares, and it's going to bring in a bunch of interesting mysteries and answer none of them. I don't see him being a big draw anymore.

I think it definitely will impact the BO performance. But....it could actually make it bigger? When sequels come out too fast, there isn't a chance to grow the # of fans. But 6 years is a long time to add fans, and have fans get old enough to see the movie who weren't when it came out, etc.
TCTTS

I definitely agree.

The Batman Part II should have stayed in October 2027, and Abram's movie should have been the one to move to February 2028.

That said, considering Abrams' movie has long-since wrapped filming, and The Batman Part II is just beginning, I do kind of sort of understand placing the former first on the schedule.

Still, I don't see why Abrams movie could have released in, say August/September 2027, and The Batman Part II could have released in, say, October/November 2027.

Either way, yeah, it's obvious the Abrams movie isn't going to be remotely the draw Batman will be.

A whole year for post production seems excessive, or is that normal for a JJ Abrams type movie?

Also, not sure what Jenna Ortega is doing, but it's not working. Not as attractive as she used to be.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?

It's not at all normal. The movie even screened recently, so it was well on its way to being "done." I'm guessing it's fundamentally flawed, though, in some way, and now needs reshoots or something.

Puts on tinfoil hat:

Gunn is finished after Supergirl flop. They are punting this because it's the only quality DC content they have and they are pushing this out because they are going to fire Gunn, create some buffer and time away from product, and then reboot with Reeves Batman.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
I'm not saying that won't happen, but the Paramount/WB deal hasn't closed yet, and if anyone fires Gunn it'll be Paramount, not WB. I just can't see WB, on their own, having plans to fire Gunn while also having him simultaneously shooting their biggest movie of 2027 (Man of Tomorrow).

Lathspell

I don't want the Reeves Batman to be part of any bigger universe. I love how it's the only comic book movie that is returning back to basics. No massive, interstellar war for the survival of the universe. Tell an interesting story. Focus on cinematography and classic filmmaking. I hope they don't **** it up with anything from the DCEU.
AustinAg2K
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I agree. I actually think DC should scrap their extended universe entirely. It worked for Marvel, but has failed for pretty much everyone else. Since End Game, it's pretty much been a failure for Marvel, too. Just focus on making the best Batman, best Superman, best Wonder Woman, etc. Don't worry about the extended universe.
