Maybe Zsaz kills a court of owls member and that gets Batman to begin investigating who they are. Once he gets deeper into the investigation, Talon is introduced to stop him.

As credible as Jeff Sneider is, just FYI...

This sounds a lot like the misinformation for the 2nd new Star Trek with Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan.

Obviously not a trailer, but it could be, say, a first shot of Pattinson in the Batsuit, if the suit's been updated at all. Studios often do this if there's outdoor filming, to beat the paparazzi to the punch with a professional, well-lit photo first…

Reminds me of an old Cheech and Chong movie if you know what I'm talking about.

This would make sense timing-wise, but also considering The Batman: Part II is supposed to be winter/snow movie and filming will have wrapped by then...

They are in danger of over-hyping the movie at this point. They should just film it and stop saying how amazing the script is.

Just once I want a headline to read "Jeffery Wright thinks Batman II script is garbage as he prepares to start filming his scenes."

Or even "Wright, who is contractually obligated to be in the sequel, continues to hype movie, hoping to make box office points when its released"

I do appreciate these posts with the movie updates, but yeah, we all know that the people involved with a movie are going to hype it, so their opinions and endorsements hold little to no weight IMO.

True but we are 2 for 2 in Reevesverse so far.

Ehh... I disagree. One can do a press interview and promote a project without specifically hyping something. We've heard multiple people tied to this movie talk about how incredible the script is. This isn't just something you hear with every single movie from those involved. We heard it from Gunn when there were criticisms about Reeves taking a long time to turn it in. We've heard it from multiple people tied to the project.

There's literally no reason to specifically call out how great the script is unless they truly believe that.

This is similar to the messaging we were getting from Colin Farrell when he was asked about The Penguin show. Actors are always promoting their projects, true. But you can tell when actors are truly excited about the project and not just going through the motions of the standard press junket.

And this is where Reeves slowly works himself into the primary DCU helmsman usurping Gunn.

So it begins.

Another project we can all get behind. A known villain in the Batman universe. Would love to see some crossover with The Penguin or a mention of Bruce or Batman just to connect the dots. Not a difficult formula, get a known villain with a big name star and print money.

I read this as being a TV series like The Penguin, and i'm not sure how much viewership a Poison Ivy series pushes to HBO Max.

If it becomes a movie, like Clayface, "printing money" would be highly questionable and completely depend on the budget. Comic book universes aren't that well known outside of comic book "nerds" (and I use that term in a friendly manner since I consider myself one). A Poison Ivy project won't "print money" in the manner that you're speaking of. Give it the same budget of Supergirl, and it'll completely lose money just like Supergirl did. Keep it a reasonable budget of no more than $50 million, make it known in the advertising that its in Reeves' The Batman universe, and it would likely turn a profit after a worldwide run.

I agree with all that. Having a Poison Ivy show especially on HBO would get eyeballs. It's a tier 1 villain and a show made by an architect of that universe. The challenge with Clayface in my opinion is he is a tier 2 villain and without a direct visual tie to Bruce Wayne or Batman in the film it's going to be difficult to gain an audience. People want to see Bruce or Batman or at least have the chance of seeing him. He's not necessary when Colin Ferrel is the Penguin. Perhaps I'm way off base when it comes to what people want but I doubt it.

Agreed. And she will need to be really hot.

However, Teen Titans was on HBO Max and fairly successful with secondary characters. Hit or miss show at times, but I mostly enjoyed it.

Ive honestly wanted to see someone make Poison Ivy in a grounded way, so I'm interested. I always thought she could be like an eco-terrorist type person.

Ok, sooooo, suggestions for who should play her?

These days when one of the priorities is "she has to be hot," Sydney Sweeney makes my top 5 list by default, lol. But who else.

I dunno if I'm gonna go full on the script hype, the Batman was great but I think the plot in the last 3rd got pretty meh and it went full dumb comic book movie.

Sure, like the animated version on the Harley Quinn cartoon (but more realistic of course, lol...god I love that show). Just as long as they don't make her a whiny, ultrafeminist, too-serious to ever smile or joke, type of progressive character. The audience still needs to enjoy watching her if she's going to be the protagonist.

There are only 2 logical choices.

1) Lupita Nyongo

2) Elliott Page

Based on the look (on the paler side, can be a red head) and the acting chops, I'd say:

Saoirse Ronan
Anya Taylor-Joy
Margaret Qualley
Elle Fanning

I think any HBO show on a villain would need to be after a successful introduction in one of the movies, similar to The Penguin. Especially if it isn't one of the BIG ones.

For casting, I would think she needs to at least be in her 30's. I was looking through a list of actresses in their 30's and seeing Dakota Fanning made me pause and think, "huh... that could be a decent casting."
