Someone a few pages back on this thread stated that Mike White has remarked that he wouldn't ever do White Lotus without Jennifer Coolidge in the cast.

For me it is mildly entertaining, i like some of the scenery and music, its fairly sophisticated storytelling in some ways, but in some ways very menial, and sometimes outsmarts itself.
It is pretty good and i'll keep watching but mainly as it is a middle ground decent show both my wife and i can watch.
Nothing is all that funny, at least this season
No one is all that likeable or hateable or relatable
I know that is part of the point, but still…
I do agree that the overall conception and story lines with the heavy ghey overtones is lame and pretty bland.
I enjoy some of the dialogue, some of the acting, and mostly the locations and cultural aspects such as the opera and art.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like Tanya? She's sometimes OK. And sometimes annoying, and not in a funny way.

The trip was Greg's idea. Remember when he said he wanted just the two of them to get away together without Portia around? That's why he was so mad to see Portia there because she's a wrench in the works.
He's gotta be the "cowboy" the gay uncle was talking about, right? And probably who he was talking to on the phone.
Man! Can't wait to see how all this plays out - really getting good.

Are we supposed to infer that Daphne had a kid with the trainer? I heard that on a podcast but didn't pick up on it during the show.

I thought Season 1 was funnier.
I think Season 2 might be better.

As for Lucia, I still can't tell if she's running a con or not. My gut says there aren't going to be two completely separate cons in the same show - that we're only supposed to *think* Lucia is running one too - and that her story is actually the one that ends with a happy ending (much like the kid staying in Hawaii last season, except she makes it to LA).
Lucia is definitely trying to con Albie

See, my thought was just that she was inferring that she should have kids. I thought there was no trainer until I read this thread.
