Are Blood and Cheese the tongueless bug men?

Funny how the ONE PERSON your spoiler jokes are aimed at, was the one that responded crying about your spoiler jokes.

One other question...when did they do away with the "ball in plate" tradition of the great council meetings? Was it w Robert Baratheon?

So who had the Sept built since what we see of the coronation is in the Dragon Pit? Baratheon as well? No Targs would have built it.

Is it really a change, so to speak?
How could anyone on the ground back then actually know what happened up there? I haven't read this far in Fire and Blood so I may be asking a dumb question--for example if Aemond came back and said "yeah I murdered my nephew, woohoo!"
But if it's like everything else in the book, it's just unreliable reporting from some people who were around back then.

They name dropped Cregan Stark and said he's closer in age to Jace than to Rhaenyra. I know all the art makes him look like this grizzled mountain man in his 50s but I'm expecting a fairly young actor to be cast as the Lord of Winterfell.

Finally got to watch E10 last night - Astros game ended too late on Sunday. It felt short and I wanted to see more... which I guess is a sign of a good show.
I like the uncontrollable aspect of the dragons - the major fault of this universe when dragons are present is the constant "why not use a dragon?" solution to most problems.
Overall I thought S1 did a great job setting the table and explaining the stakes. Looking forward to a much more action packed S2.

The show has done a really good job of setting up the dragons as an uncontrollable ally that is now about to be used for purposes that do nothing but decimate the dragon population. I think over 4 seasons they'll be able to cast a really strong forward view of why the dragons end up dying out. Not quite karma, but more of a - you've squandered your gift, and now look what has happened. Sort of like the message of the Lorax when they keep destroying all the natural resources with the undying belief that there will always be more.
The last scene of the last episodes should be the last dragon born being tiny and weak and dying, and the Targs realizing their days ruling are definitely numbered.
Alternatively, I would lvoe them to time jump and tell lots of other House of the Dragon stories - both forwards towarsd Robert's Rebellions and backwards to Old Valyria
Personally, I'd read the main series first, then follow it up with the Dunk and Egg stories before Fire and Blood (and World of Ice and Fire if you're feeling particularly bullish). Others may disagree, but I feel like that's the most natural order. You can also join us in cursing GRRM's name as we wait for the now apparently 3/4 done Winds of Winter and 0% done Dream of Spring.Job314 said:
I've been a huge fan of GOT and now HOTD. So I decided to order the books and start reading. Do y'all recommend started with song of ice and fire books then Fire and Blood or do you think starting out with Fire and Blood will be more beneficial since it's chronologically first?
