It's really weird you don't like Spider-Man.

I want to, and I've tried. I did love the first Raimi Spider-Man movie, and Homecoming was pretty good.

And despite my opinion, I will always give credit where credit is due on Spider-Man. Seeing NWH break records was really fun to follow.

I've just always had a weird hang up with Spider-Man. I even have a picture of me at my 6th or 7th birthday party where I got a Spider-Man action figure and I have a disappointed look on my face. I have another picture of me getting a BTAS figure at the same party and I'm losing my *****

Quick discussion on the Joker...

So when that scene was happening, I naturally assumed it was the Joker and I recognized Keoghan's voice. However, for a split second I saw his face and it looked really, really messed up. And I had a quick thought that it could actually be Two-Face, even though the dialogue didn't fit... Did anyone else catch his face and think it seemed pretty deformed?

So I've been thinking... with all these takes on the Joker, would Reeves try to differentiate with this version of him???

Seems like that would be too hardcore even for this world, but if any iteration called for it - I think this would be it. Plus again, with so much Joker oversaturation, this would be a new way to go about him.

That would be pretty interesting, but Reeves has since confirmed that Keoghan is playing the traditional Joker, before he officially becomes/deems himself the Joker, and that he was born with a defect that gives him a permanent smile.

Yep, this Joker did have a really messed up smile. I mean, Ledger's Joker had the scars as his "perma-smile", but in the 0.5 second glimpse we caught of this new Joker I thought I saw his whole mouth in an abnormally large messed up grin.

My immediate thought was also Two Face on my first viewing. Definitely looked scarred.

This is what Reeves is going for as inspiration, who was actually inspiration to Bill Finger, Jerry Robinson, and Bob Kane when creating Joker.

1928's The Man Who Laughs, a story about a man who had a birth defect that forced him to always be smiling.

Shoutout to this guy, who posted this fan made trailer 13 years ago. I actually remember watching it at the time.

I like to think Matt Reeves somehow saw this and it planted the seeds for The Batman.

Different variation, similar vibe, better quality.

I sat through that whole movie, and never recognized that Colin Farrell was Penguin. And I knew going in Colin Farrell was in this movie and unrecognizable.

Jesus.

I'm sure someone like Reeves could prove me wrong, but I just can't envision how Mr. Freeze could be done in a movie that's not hokey like the 90's version. I personally have no interest in him on screen.

I'd really love for Reeves to explore the Court of Owls storyline. He set it up really nicely in The Batman. It would introduce a new villain, Talon, and a new big bad, the Court itself.
No matter what!

I would definitely like to see a new villain in the sequel, although I would definitely like more Penguin and Catwoman as well. It was a cool thing that Batman was so physically dominant in this film, but he needs a villain who can kick his ass physically as well, and it's definitely not time for more Bane or Ras yet.

The part of the movie I keep thinking about is the opening, where the thugs are all scared of shadows. So well done.

Screencrush has a couple other breakdowns of this movie (Every hidden clue and the ending explained ones-can't link from work at the moment) that are really great. After watching those and letting this movie settle, it definitely has gone up in my mind and is just a phenomenal movie.

Is it perfect? No, and it won't be for everyone. Is it as good as the Dark Knight? Probably not, but that is in the eye of the beholder. Dark Knight was so new and fresh at the time, and had an awesome origin story of Batman Begins to set it up and develop everything which had the viewer invested more. And of course the Heath Ledger performance. But it had it's flaws too...heck, one reason my wife liked this one more was that it didn't have the stupid altered Bale Batman voice (really most annoying in the Dark Rises one )

Anyways, nothing new or groundbreaking here, but this was an awesome and effective different iteration for all the reasons already discussed.

It's def hard to imagine but I'm sure he could do it. And I would love to see his take on how the character would work in this universe. I mean Riddler went from this:

To this:

Like plenty have said, Freeze is an incredible villain and deserves redemption

It's set up perfect for this.

only issue i had was Catwoman being able to pick up the money bag while driving the motorcycle.. That would be way too heavy for her to sling over her head and onto her back...

That bothered you but not Batman getting shot point blank with rifles and not getting knocked on his rear?

Well, i mean he has a batsuit.... she weighs no more than 100 pounds... She made it look effortless.

I still don't understand why nobody shot him in the face.

And? It's a comic book movie and Catwoman has shown pretty large feats of ability of strength and fighting. Kind of like the previous poster who was so glad Catwoman couldn't land a punch on Batman. Why? It's not out of the realm of possibility for her character. She was able to lift him to safety, even in the full bat suit. People need to get over themselves.

Just saw the movie again. So good. Can't wait to see any deleted scenes.

Everything I liked really held up in the second viewing. I thought the Gotham Square Garden scene wasn't as rushed as I originally thought, and the Joker scene (while still not necessary) played better when I knew the intention.

Also got a sweet new cup

Ah yes, please, tell me why not? Because she's a woman and Batman is supposed to be an untouchable badass? Despite the numerous times she's been able to land hits in the comics.

Or is it because you don't like Zoe Kravitz? Who was doing her own share of ass kicking, aside from Batman.

I didn't say she did in this movie. Just saying it's not out of the realm of possibility for her character (Catwoman) to be able to. Reading comprehension helps. Thank you for playing as well.
