Ending makes no sense in real life, fortunately it ain't real life, so Jimmy can go out with integrity.

Then you probably shouldn't say someone's argument is flawed. That implies incorrect.

And what you or I think of a fictional characters actions is really irrelevant. It's made up. I just don't love it from a story point of view.

I can appreciate that others love it without saying they are wrong.
But if you're arguing that the story is bad because of that decision then your argument is flawed because YOU are not the one making the decision so YOUR opinion as to how it should be handled is irrelevant. I wouldn't have made that decision either but then again you and I aren't in that position in the first place so to think a character who has not acted the same way we would have from day 1 should choose to make the same decision we would in the end is dumb.

Your comments were directed at me.

My comments were directed at what I did not like about it. Never personal. And I NEVER said it was BAD. So don't put words in my mouth. I said (again) I just did not love it as much as others.

According to what you're saying now nobody can have an opinion that something in the show was not the way we would have handled it. I mean in the sense that we can either like it or not like it thats true. I did not try to rewrite the story, I simply did not love the conclusion. And all I did was say that I didn't like it as much as others.

My opinion on whether I liked it as much as others cannot be flawed. It is my opinion. And the basis for that can be whatever the hell I want it to be. You don't get to dictate my viewing perspective.

Anyway, you're arguing in circles and it appears to be intentionally obtuse so we're done.

If you say you don't like the ending because you don't think Jimmy/Saul would have made that choice I wouldn't see anything wrong with that point of view whether or not I agree. It baffles me how you can't see the difference between saying "I didn't like the ending because I wouldn't have done that" and "I didn't like the ending because I don't think the character would have done that."

And with that I'm done. I don't have any more energy to devote to this stupidity.

Fun story: a friend of mine (who happens to frequent TexAgs) has a relative that needed a small photoshop job done and couldn't find anyone. Well, it just so happens that this relative is also related to the one and only Bob Odenkirk. I thought he was joking when he first told me. I didn't ask to be paid, but I may or may not have let it be known that I was a huge Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul fan and made a joke about Bob sending me a signed photo extolling my photoshop abilities in exchange.

And then, well...

Yeah, 7 was too low. 86 was too much. Doing something like exchanging 10 for 25-30 would have gotten the point across without it being cartoonish. But whatever

Agreed.

I didn't have the reaction of most everyone else to the final. I did not think it was perfect. But I didn't hate it.

They went with the complete 180 from the breaking bad finale. I get it.

But it was too much. What the hell does winning back her respect even get you. So what you're in jail the rest of your life. No thanks. Take the deal. Do the time. Then go find her and tell her all of that same crap. She wants to forgive him anyway. Now what does she have? A cell smoke together. Meh.

Hell you got her there, tell her whatever you want to say but after you close the deal.
I don't think his primary motivation for coming clean was to win Kim back. That may have been part of it but I think primarily his motivation was to be at peace with accepting the consequences for his actions which had a major impact on a great number of people. Another piece of it has to do with proving the naysayers in his life wrong. People like chuck who said he would never break the cycle and will always be "Slipping Jimmy". The scene with Walt with the line "so you've always been like that…" was very intentional. This was his chance to reinvent himself.
I agree with you man.

He gets out in 7-years and he knows he'd be right back in the mix.

He's always been like that is right.

Look at it like an alcoholic moving somewhere where they ain't got access to alcohol.

Jimmy was looking to check out for good, and thats how he decided to do it.
I'm checking out of this thread for good because SMR has done the best job of summarizing what I believe happened. Nice job!

Here's what you're gonna do: You're gonna feed me dinner. You're gonna grab the bowl, fill it up with food, and set it down. Then you walk away. Don't stand there and watch. Don't tell me I'm a good boy. Just walk away, and don't look back.

Carol Burnett was the best three episode arch of a character that I can remember,

Carol Burnett walked into the show and put her balls out on the table.

Putting her on the show was a brilliant decision.

One of few people that have the chops to pull it off and do that last scene with Jimmy with the life alert button.

Probably the most memorable scene in the series.

Certianly Howard, Nacho hiding in the oil tank, end of Lalo … and the life alert scene.

All equals in my mind.

I initially felt like her appearance was a bit of a stunt, which is OK as I like Carol Burnett. However, she just nailed it with that "I trusted you" line.

Judge should have shut down that second hearing.

You had a guy's counsel that openly asked to withdraw.

You had a defendant having mental episode.

Woman judge should have shut it down, let him get new counsel and ordered a psychological evaluation.

So the whole thing was a failure in that regard,

A true miscarriage of justice.

I think Rhea should have got it and BCS is the far superior show but Garner is still damn good as Ruth throughout the series. Still disappointing though.

Yeah I'm not even an Ozark fan and wanted Rhea, but hard to argue against how good she has been on that show.

They split the final season for a reason. The second half will be eligible/nominated next year, when I imagine they win at least a couple of "going away" awards.

The end of May each year is the cutoff for the September awards. Though I don't know if a series has to merely premiere before the end of May, or if the entire season has to air before the end of May. Either way, the second half of the final season began airing in July, so yes, all of those episodes will be eligible for the 2023 ceremony a year from now.
