That episode flew by though.

SPOILER ALERT:

Felt sorry for the guy who shot the scalped woman to put her out of her misery. What a horrible position to be in.

For the record, you can survive being scalped. There are historical cases of people surviving for a very long time after being scalped.

I saw several women scalped in a video of a fight on 6th Street. I think they all survived.

If they can retrieve the scalps, it's better. If not, there is a way to regrow the scalp. However, even without it, it can be survived.

I was curious after the opening scene so I did some Googling.

Yeah I read one of the accounts... was still pretty brutal. If I remember correctly, he was passed out when they scalped him. The skin never grew back on him and then the skull eventually started degrading

She also had 2 arrows in her.

I saw one, but that might be less survivable.

We know. Because we read the last page.

I have no clue why the writers put them through this honestly ****ing dumb misunderstanding on top of all the other suffering. Such a very decent show overall and then this.

And at some point don't we have to talk about how almost every bad guy has the worst aim in history? Even for a western is it not getting a bit ridiculous?

BTW, what are odds Elsa gets shot with the arrow if she'd been wearing her Indian duds?

One last episode to go. Wonder what will happen.

My guess: Duttons settle down wherever Elsa dies. Everyone else goes on to Oregon.

This show is close to being worse than Yellowstone. The acting is atrocious feels like a Lifetime movie

Certainly explains how they ended up in the Yellowstone area when they were originally headed to Oregon.

They weren't originally headed to Oregon. They were headed to wherever Tim McGraw's character found that felt right (or something of that nature…can't remember the exact quote). Regardless, now we know for sure why they ended up in Yellowstone.

So one of the hottest shows out right now is worse than THE hottest show out right now. And you're watching it and complaining on a thread about it.

Or watch it, but stop *****ing about it here.

So I'm watching the episode again and I checked a map. Today's episode is pretty close to Caspar Wyoming, they mentioned that they were six hours from Fort Caspar.

The Dutton Ranch is supposed to be located near Bozeman, Montana. It's about 420 miles from Caspar Wyoming to Bozeman Montana (minimum of 3 weeks by wagon). That's a pretty long way for a mortally wounded Elsa to travel. I guess if she dies they can just carry her remains the rest of the way, especially if it's freezing to re tard decomp.

For the record, it's tiring seeing all the 'for the record' posts. Nobody gives a **** if you like it or don't.

There's a reason I don't hop on the ozark or succession threads after my initial thoughts. Nobody wants to read me ****ting all over it again and again. This is the show. Not saying you can't be critical but don't be lazy with your criticism.

As with Yellowstone, these are primetime drama soap operas. It isn't The Sopranos.

The scene with Dad talking to mom about Elsa and his feelings for her really got to me. You men who have daughters know what I mean. I have sons too and love them to death but even they know daughters are special.

All the MFers complaining about Elsa are going to be happy with this episode, right? Probably not, gonna find something else to ***** about.

Oh, **** off. That's most every show or movie ever. You see plenty of characters get killed in this show. You saw James and Thomas get shot. You saw Elsa get fatally shot. You saw the cook get fatally shot. You saw Ennis get fatally shot. You've seen plenty of immigrants get fatally shot. There's always going to be plot armor.

Yeah man, there's no way in hell I'd be able to keep it together after hearing my daughter is going to die. And there's no in hell my wife would be able to keep it together, either. That was a gut-wrenching moment.

Nobody diagnosed her as dying. That was the reality of their times. He knew from being a soldier and she knew from being a war nurse. As much as Sheridan is dogged on these threads, I think his purpose is to put ourselves in their place even though we can't relate to what they went thru.

Are you getting pedantic? He was told from the cowboy that she was shot through the liver, telling him that she's going to die. Whether a cowboy or doctor tells me my daughter is going to die, I can't imagine.

Just stopping by to read the complaints…..what are we whining about in the latest episode ?

One level of concern for me…anyone know how many episodes we have left in 1883? It's a one season show and I'm worried we're about to blaze through a lot of stuff to close it out form now to Montana.

ETA: I may have missed something. Are we doing two 1883 seasons? I don't read much. I just watch the show and move on. Lol.

The 1932 show is a separate spinoff with the next generation of the Dutton family. 1883 has been renewed for another season.

I'm 50/50 on whether Elsa lives or dies. She's been shown to be a fighter.

Maybe the Lakota chief will come back to work some Indian magic medicine on her. Then afterwards, she hops in bed with him LOL.
