Heartbreaking episode. Next one on January 30.

I think the scene with Elsa in the white dress will be the finale?? What she says makes sense now.

He was possibly my favorite character on the show.

Saw it coming… That was top three storylines. Sheridan better not make this a dead end storyline and abandon the whole thing.

It's been reported this is a 1 season show so I'd imagine anything is on the table as far as who lives/dies etc

If the acclaims continue, there's no way Paramount doesn't have a second season in some form.

They need anything, everything they have to compete with the HBO/Prime/Netflix

Tom Hanks' wife to be in upcoming epuside.

According to Variety, Rita will take on the "role of Carolyn, a storekeeper at Doan's Crossing who helps Margaret (Faith) decompress with some whiskey punch." That certainly sounds like a lot of fun!

That was a tough one! We've established one thing...No doubt they turned North after crossing the Brazos for no reason (other than the great river crossing scene) and next stop is Doan's Store on the Red....(no Abilene, Tx as I suspected)...then on across "Indian Territory" towards Abilene, KS. It's a shame TS has made this just a one season endeavor....seems like the trip itself could encompass one season, and another one at least with life in Montana. Great show!!

Well. That sucks.

I don't know how to put the black bar, so don't keep reading my post if you want to avoid spoilers….

The second kid in the Yellowstone flashbacks is Elsa's and Ennis'; I'm calling it.

But don't forget that in the opening scene of the first episode, when they're still wagon training and clearly in the Rockies somewhere that A) she doesn't look pregnant at all and B) she takes an arrow right through her stomach/baby maker.
Having said all that, your theory intrigues me!

Uterus is way lower down than where that arrow hit.

I haven't gone back to rewatch that scene so I'm gonna have to take your word for shot placement of that arrow.

How long did we argue about Abilene for? If Elsa's knocked-up, arrow placement is relevant!

Yep.

When they first introduced him and the other cowboy (name escapes me), I thought they would be typical Western characters -- lawless trouble makers. But they both were written much differently and Ennis even more so.

At least we've solved the Abilene part....and it ain't Texas.

They may not be attacked by Indians until 1884!

I loved Ennis. He didn't have a ton of lines, but his delivery was spectacular. His comment last week after Elsa finished playing Moonlight Sonata, and this week when he asked what she was going to tell her dad. Fantastic.

Something has been bothering me: when did Shea's family die? Was it right before he leaves on this trip? Where did they live?

It bothers me to no end that there wasn't a date or location card at the beginning of that scene. I rewatched it several times, thinking I missed it. Obviously he suffers the deaths still, but it would be helpful to know if they were recent or years before.

To me, anyway.

Things I never imagined I'd read today.

That's what I thought, initially.

But when I watched it a second time, I realized Tom didn't find him in a field by the remnants of his house, it was just a random field.

I read posts on this thread about him suffering ptsd which made me wonder if their deaths were years before.

I understand it's not really important to to the story, but it bothers the hell out of me.

Just watched. Poor Ennis. At least he went out on a high note.

Also, what's with Elsa crying through her nose? Way too much snot in those scenes (and not many tears, especially the first one).

It was bad....but no where near as bad as Susanna Dickinson in the 2004 Alamo....it was quite the flow!!

Tough ending! Ol' Ennis was a pretty likable dude, and I admit that I didn't see that coming until he was riding hard toward the last bandit. Heartbreaking to see Elsa in so much pain, but she foreshadowed some Beth Dutton by getting up and shooting that dirty MF'er full of holes.

What a great show! Each episode is like a little movie…

I have to believe it's at least a couple of years before.

Tim McGraws reaction when she finally started crying still stands out to me in that scene.
