On the other hand, think how much of a beating those conventions have got to occasionally be for the actors.

Probably just a bad day, but it just stuck with me and that's probably not fair to the guy. Anyway, it would be interesting to see him host.

Back on point, I think Aaron Rodgers has really done an admirable job. He and Mike Richards have been head and shoulders over all others. Also, too, who makes the ultimate decision on Alex's eventual replacement? Is it Mike?

Would Levar Burton get to wear a sight visor?

Well Rodgers didn't get to wear his helmet

If we are going for iconic Jeopardy contestants, can they get Rosie Perez?

My ranking of the temporary hosts so far:
1) Ken Jennings (easy #1, should be the permanent host going forward)
2) Aaron Rodgers (surprised how natural he has been in this role)
3) Mike Richards (decent but sounds very fake)

4) Dr. Oz
5) Katie Couric

Oz and Couric were awful.

Jennings was very good, mainly because of his Jeopardy pedigree.

Richards and Rodgers tie for first. Richards was more polished and poised, but Rodgers has that X factor that makes him very watchable. But, Richards is busy producing and Rodgers is busy with football. Of course, Rodgers plays football half the year so he might be able to do it?

I am sorta surprised they have not ask Neil DeGrasse Tyson

I figured Rodgers was just going to be a fun experiment and wasn't expecting much - but he really surprised me with how good he was.

Maybe it's because he had nothing to prove and was more relaxed, but his style had a "trivia night at home" feel to it. He seemed to genuinely enjoy asking questions/giving answers.

Joe Buck is going to be a guest host.

Now I'm convinced that Mike Rogers wants the job. Outside of Rodgers, he's the shoe in and they just keep finding more people to further that claim.

Joe Buck is a national treasure...to mock.

I wish they would allow non-celebrities the ability to give it a shot. It would really give the show back to its fans. They could even have a little web show about the process of picking which fan as they go through practices with hopeful contestants.

If he gets it does this mean we can get someone other than him doing WS play by play?

Anderson Cooper last night.

Strong voice, metered and polished. More business-like and serious than I thought. I'd put him above Couric and Dr. Oz, but below the rest at this point. To be fair, he just got started.

I don't get it.

I also don't really get all the hate for Joe Buck.

Originally my hate for Joe buck was when he feigned disgust and outrage about something Randy Moss did, and then immediately followed that up with a live read promo for some fox trash TV like temptation island or whatever. Partially it's bc I just think he always sounds pompous and arrogant.

Having said that, I heard him on Howard Stern a couple years ago, and he poked fun at himself and came across as a decent dude. He did a bit where he did a play by play of one of the Stern staffers eating breakfast and it was pretty damn funny. So now my "hate" is in jest.

I may tune back in for Levar Burton's run. Think he was about the only non-contestant fans actually wanted.

Cooper has been okay. He is killing me with the 1-2 second delayed correct/incorrect response to the contestants answer. He's still way ahead of Couric's disaster

Oz has been the best in terms of pace. Rogers was pretty quick too.

I'm hoping that anytime someone answers a Daily Double correctly they do the little DOODOODOOOOT! thing that always played at the end of the kids' book reports.
Southlake
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, Cooper seemed a bit disjointed on Wednesday. Kinda like he couldn't find a comfortable rhythm and this also affected the contestants. Seemedhe wasn't sure whether an answer was correct or not and paused to think about it. Kind of strange really. Maybe he was medicated?
Frozen Concoction
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has picked up on Cooper's irksome pauses. Other than that, he's been okay.
Once I got used to Rogers's steady low-key cadence, I really enjoyed it.
Dr Oz was just a step behind Rogers and far ahead of she-who-will-not-be-named.
