Mail call. I told myself I did not need the Black Toes. That someday I would find my way to a pair of true Chicagos. Then I saw a lace swap video on YouTube, decided to place a low "nobody will sell at this price" bid, and here we are.

In case some don't know, these are patterned after the player-exclusive prototype Michael wore before they settled on the final Air Jordan wings logo. Comes with two lace options, red & black, but I really like the off-white / cream which matches the outsole and gives these a feel much more in-between Chicagos and the Black Toes, IMO.

First pic still has the black & red on one shoe while the 2nd is the final swap.

Those black toes are really nice. If I didn't have so many versions of a white/red/black Jordan 1, that would've been an instant cop for me

Yes. Those are the Harlestone in green Horween buffalo leather. I later got a pair of the Overstone in nutmeg kudu leather from C.F. Stead. Both are awesome.

That black Horween Chromexcel really pops with the white soles. Good choice. A black sole would maybe look dressier but it wouldn't show off the leather as much IMO.

Finally received my pair of Jordan 4 RM from StockX, got them for well below MSRP. They are a little tight in the toe box, but other than that, very comfortable. Will take the shoe stretcher to them and hopefully, they'll loosen up a bit.

It's an interesting concept. For those that didn't watch the vid or haven't read about them, supposedly, the marks on there that make them look beat are supposed to wear off with more actual wear. I kind of like the idea of coming in looking like a club pair and ending up like a party pair. Also, as a card-carrying member of Team Wear Your Shoes, I like the nod. Folks buy distressed jeans all the time. I don't see why it couldn't work for a shoe.

That being said, I'll be passing, though I suspect these might do well.

If you have distressed jeans, and distressed sneakers, then you're trying to hard to look homeless.

You need badass shoes and shirt with your distressed jeans, otherwise you are paying extra money to look like a loser.

You can wear a bathrobe, but if you have fire on your feet, all anyone will see is the shoes.

Distressed jeans are cool, distressed shoes are dumb as ****…
