Forgot about the J1 Chinese New Year drop this morning. Was going to be my first draw in a while.

Mail call, little dude outgrew his AJ11s (or more accurately his feet are now too chubby for them) so needed to find him a wider pair he could fit into.

Order came in. This new release was posted a few pages back, and since I had a birthday this month, there was my built-in good excuse. I do like my greys, and I'm particularly susceptible to suede accents.

Sure, here you go. Nike describes the soles as translucent, and this is the one spot where they veer more towards a blue/grey color in person. That was a worry of mine pre-order b/c the official pics ranged in hue from pure grey to almost a light purple vibe (which is not for me).

Sorry lighting is not better, but on this rainy Houston day, it's pretty dim in the house.

You should explain more about what makes them quality (I.e. what you're looking for and paying for in these). I think it's easier for people to appreciate style in photos, but less so quality. I would be interested to learn more about this market. I've shopped bespoke dress shoes before, so I know a little, but what makes these sneakers worth the extra coin?

I think there are a lot of things that go into this. Both the Harlestone and Overstone can be resoled because of the design and construction. Crown uses very high quality leathers from the Horween tannery in Chicago and the C.F. Stead tannery in Leeds, England. My Harlestones have American bison leather from Horween and the Overstones have wild kudu leather from South Africa, tanned by C. F. Stead. Harlestones have a cork filled midsole design with a premium natural rubber outsole. Overstone uses a nearly as high quality midsole and outsole unit. Both shoes are fully leather lined with calfskin.

There's more than I have memorized about these shoes. I watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of reviews online before buying them. I think I could get many years out of both pairs.

Prob my personal fav OG Jordan of all time from my childhood (J4 Military Blue) coming out in May. I cannot wait to strike out on these and then pay a ridiculous price for em. Been waiting a long time for these to be released..
