But this is just demand on ONE shoe. Overall they've had a huge excess of inventory this year because the bottom fell out of the shoe market. They made a **** ton of this shoe, the hype was just insane.

Go look at how low prices are on the secondary market for a lot of shoes right now. Outside of insanely limited collabs and this shoe, you can get a lot of shoes for pretty close to retail because the demand isn't there.

Right now Nike is having to drop a **** ton of inventory at a loss so I'm not sure pointing to one instance of this happening is really going to make them produce more than they need to.

Not to mention that quality really suffers the more pairs that are made and as it is some people are getting really meh quality sneakers. People can always go buy reps if they really want them that badly, don't care about quality too much, and don't want to pay resale (I sure don't want to pay resale on these).

An hour and a half later and the L rolls in from SNKRS. I took about 8 L's in total on a size 12

Yeah, this is why I'm laughing. Using the drop of the most hyped shoe of the entire year as an indictment on their business model is a special level of ignorant. Tons of shoes are sitting on SNKRS, they aren't going to suddenly decide to open the flood gates.

Besides, they did release more inventory than normal with this release.

Nike is never going to let the Jordan 1 be like the AF1 where you can just go cop. Scarcity is part of the model. Does it suck to take an L? 100% But it also makes it better when you actually nail a pair.

Its ok to just be disappointed to not get a pair (I sure am), but that doesn't meant eh business model is bad.

The app is definitely trash.

1.5 hour delay, but my L arrived.

Should have listened to my gut and bought on secondary last night. Would have saved $100. Need to wait now and make sure I'm not buying out of spite.

I never said the business model was bad, only that I didn't understand it. I'm not sure how long this draw process has been going on but I've owned plenty of Jordan's over the years, including 1's, where I walked into a brick & mortar store and purchased them. I'm sure those days are long gone but it certainly hasn't always been like this.

And now that I think of it I've purchased a pair of Jordan 1's within the last few months that wasn't part of a draw. Had the opportunity to buy others in the recent past as well so that part of your post is just inaccurate.

I mean if you think buying pairs of Jordan 1s in store is the same level as being able to buy AF1s then OK. I don't know what else to say on the matter.
