On a side note, I meant to come post yesterday to see if anyone else got the 1099 protest/congressional letter email from ebay.

Long story short: eBay sent out an email asking its members/users to write a letter to congress asking them to do away with the stupid new rules regarding income reporting. Sounds like they don't want to deal with that BS

I wonder what would be better for Nike...the brand value of having a high dollar secondary market (in which fakes abound) or just selling the 1000's more pairs of shoes of popular releases directly. I can't see Nike getting a monetary cut on the secondary market...that is unless they are holding back 100's of pairs of shoes to go directly into the secondary market.

I don't know what the personalities are in the shoe game, but there are at least these:

(1) Sneakerheads who buy what they like to collect or wear
(2) Hypebeasts who buy what is hot/expensive/hard to get to show off that they have it
(3) Businessmen who buy so they can sell to the Sneakerheads and Hypebeasts for a profit

Most people are some combination of these. Lots of overlap between 1 and 2, and between 2 and 3. Some folks are all 3. I know I mostly buy what I like to wear/collect, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't chase some shoes because of the hype/resale opportunities.

I also think group 3 has those dudes that are buying in huge quantities. Nike needs those people to move volume and limit access.

If people weren't able to sell shoes for 2X+ MSRP, people wouldn't be trying to "win" shoes for MSRP, regardless which group they fit in.

This is the way:

• Nike limits access
• Limited access drives hype
• Hype promotes resale
• Resale promotes Nike

not sure how difficult they were to get but scooped a pair of the Air Max BW OG for a friend. Feels good to get a W, especially since they won't be going to my closet.

This is my first hit on a SNKRS release since July 2021, and my 3rd total in like 3 years. So I'm guessing Nike has me on the one-a-year plan to keep me coming back.

I deleted all the sneaker apps and un-followed all the sneaker folks on social media.

You can get any shoe you want for damn near retail directly from China without any of the hassle and no bro in the airport will ever know they didn't come from Nike. There is almost no reason to play the game if you just want to wear shoes thst you find visually appealing.

Yeah, especially for some more expensive resell shoes. I've wanted the Jordan 4 Breds for awhile, and certainly not paying resell for them. I'd love to go the rep route for these as I'm sure with this style the reps are damn close to 1:1, however, I wear a 14 in Jordans and the reps only go up to size 13.

There are some reps that go up to 14, but yeah, same boat. It was so difficult to figure it out where 14s were that I just quit. I wanted the Cactus Jack Houston Oilers blue 4s.

We should start working trades here for used sneakers. There's life after DS. If you have a pair you are bored with, maybe you can work a trade on here for a pair someone else is bored with. Might get interesting.

All of the mids and highs have extra cushioning, so I have to size up but I wear a 13 in lows luckily. I actually have those Travis Scott Fragments in a rep version. I believe MW03 sent me the guy he uses, and I think I got them within 2.5 weeks.

I am still enjoying the "sneaker game" enough that it keeps me coming back. There are so many releases to try for that I don't feel the need to pay secondary on much of anything. Except those Neutral Gray Jordan 1 OG, couldn't pass those up even at secondary prices.

I haven't bought from them before. They get good reviews on reddit r/BigBoiRepFashion. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Plus the ones I want, Jordan 1 Low OG, aren't on there.
