Asking too much; should easily be 15% less, minimum. I wouldn't spend more than $1,200 for a used Jazz Bass. You could easily find a post 2011 American Standard, Professional, or Professional II for between $900-$1,100.

Just saw Paul Gilbert play Holy Diver. Don Carr and Nick Bowcott joined him as well as a drummer and bass player. It was typical Paul. Man that guy is smooth.

LP Junior. It's reliced, and not very well I might add. I've been on the lookout for a while, non-reliced, but this is the best I could do. The upside is that this comes from a shop in California rather than having to risk getting it from the Chinese mainland. So it should arrive in 3-4 days instead of 6 weeks, and hopefully the headstock will be intact.

GC called me yesterday. I had a phone message a few weeks back for the new sales slug in their call center that has taken over my "account" after the last guy left.

YouTuber Phil McKnight had a segment in his weekly livestream in the past month or two about GC showing more signs of trouble by cold calling their customers.

Yesterday afternoon was a cold call from my local store. They wanted to tell me about their sales they had running thru July 5th.

I was on the way home when they called and not far from the store so I stopped by.

They have a LOT of used amps for their size store. Quite a few used electrics and acoustics.

And then this. Seems kinda pricey for a used guitar but they have it locked away in the "Excalibur" booth so maybe it's legit? It's pretty if nothing else.

There's one on reverb for $5900 used. That might actually be a decent price unless this reverb one is some kind of special deal.

I've used ultimate stands before and never had a problem. It was for speakers though. I've never owned a Hercules stand, but have had friends that wouldn't buy anything else.

My instructor uses Hercules and The Captain and Danish Pete use them often on the Anderton's YouTube channel so I would guess they are the standard.

This Ultimate Support model looks really similar. I can get one on the holiday sale and save some money. The stand I'm using currently is great for acoustics but not so much for electrics.

I was at a gig when I sent that earlier and realized when I was packing up that my mic stand I just got was an Ultimate. I like it a lot so far.

Seven 1 and 2 star reviews on Sweetwater that said the headstock holder locked up. Several by performing musicians, and one of them said it was on the first one and the replacement under warranty too. Might just be a cheap imitation??

What tuning do you guys keep your guitars in?

I'm a Tremonti nerd so the PRS guitars are in Drop D, Open D5, and Standard. I've got the Epiphone Les Paul down a half step.

All my acoustics are in Standard, but historically I've kept one in Open E because I used to play She Talks to Angels when I'd gig. I really need to relearn that one.

Standard for now. I'll try out some alternates at some point.

Man, this is awesome. Plays the actual song from your music library and allows you to remove, decrease or boost any aspect of the song so you can play along. The vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, anything. So you can simply remove the guitar part, play the actual song (as long as you own it) on a bluetooth speaker and play the guitar part. It is *awesome*, we use it all the time like if our drummer can't make practice, welp, we now have Sean Kinney or whoever to play along with. It's not perfect, but it's truly amazing at what it does, and the control you have. Highly recommend!
