I know the Acoustasonics are a somewhat polarizing, "jack of all trades, master of none" guitar, but I came across this mint 2022 Jazzmaster version on Craigslist and ended up getting it for $1k (exactly half of MSRP). I didn't need it, I'm definitely not their primary target audience (i.e. live gig players), and I may regret it later. But for the price, I couldn't pass up a made-in-USA Fender - and so far, I'm enjoying playing around with the different tones this thing can produce.

I've turned my Michael Kelly T53 into a project guitar. Earlier I had installed the EMG T pickup set, and made modifications to be able to replace the regular neck with a Warmoth Fat V neck. It's very meaty and corpulent.

Next step was replacing the regular bridge with a cutoff-style hardtail and direct mounting the pickup, sort of like what Tom Anderson does on their T-style models. New pickguard to cover up the old bridge holes is on the way (EDIT- I Photochopped the holes out of the pic).

Next I'm probably going to get a 24-3/4" conversion neck w/ Strat headstock. This guitar has forearm and belly cuts, so it will kind of be like a Strat/Tele mashup after I take the final step, which is adding a middle pup and 5-way switch.

Back to the bridge- without going into the very long story why (i talked about it on a previous post), I've wound up with the pickups being app. 3/8" further away from the bridge saddles than normal. Guess what? I think I like it, a lot. The wound strings are still nice and twangy on the bridge pup but the high strings are a wee bit smoother.
