I'm a fan of nickel hardware, personally, as well as a parchment 3-ply pickguard for a tobacco sunburst strat, but that fretboard is beautifully dark. Are the '93 Standards Nitro or Poly finishes?

Not 100% but I'd put money on it being poly. Didn't get delivered today so hopefully I'll get to confirm tomorrow.

After hyping this sale up, predictably and irritatingly the sale is on all lower end guitars. Might be worth perusing though if you're looking for a neck, some pickups, pedals, bags, etc.
Think I'm now going to go buy a Gibson out of spite haha.

Nice! I just sold my LP Special for $1,200 locally. Bought it for $1,100, so basically made up for the taxes.
Looking forward to my tele getting here, tomorrow! Granted, it won't be in full fighting force until my antiquity pickups and mastery bridge get here. At that point, i will need to determine if I want to install it myself or take it to Neil...
Drilling holes into a Nitro finish is something I don't feel entirely comfortable with.

This would make my decision for me.
I'm speechless. Did a raw cruise through various cleans and distortion. The versatility is something I've never experienced. You can hear the craftsmanship. The push pull pots were really cool to play around with. I'm going to take a deep dive on the art and science of finding the right tones. But so far, this guitar is my new pride and joy. I haven't felt that joy since I got my first guitar as a kid.
The fretboard and neck is a dream to play on can play really fast. Strings are set low to the fretboard which I love.
And this baby is heavvvvvy. Rock on gents!

Bust most important question... did it still have that new nitro finish smell, when you opened the case? That is the only bummer about buying used guitars. That fresh nitro smell is so freaking good. In fact... I need to go see if I can find a candle that smells like that....
Now, what are you plugging that sexy thing into? It's fairly well known that Gibsons will spontaneously combust when you plug them into solid state amps.

Oh man did it ever. $1600. I think he bought it brand new and never played it! Yes it still had that new guitar smell! When I was playing it I was like, me like. Felt like I was demoing it at the guitar store!

Apparently, idiots work at UPS. Though the ship to address was my correct address, the online tracking number says it was delivered to a Kingwood UPS store. I called them, and they said it was never delivered there.
Wow... what a bunch of morons. All I can do is open an investigation on the UPS website. I can't even talk to anyone.

Dude that is freaking brutal. Sorry to hear that.
The UPS store called me back later and said they checked with the truck and it was apparently mixed up. Since it wasn't in the store's system, they refused it or something. They said it may be delivered, tomorrow.
We'll see...
I'm leaving the case open with UPS until it is resolved.

Good luck, man. I just bought a little (big) something off reverb today and now I'm going to hold my breath until it arrives safe and sound.
That sucks. I've always had good luck with UPS. In college I talked them into calling the driver and having him come back by my house to deliver a guitar.
