I was going to see if they could hold it so I could come try it out.

Is this for real? This site seems janky, the reviews for this product at the top of the page seem to be about something else, and $53 for an amp and pedal and music stand that folds up on itself seems pretty cheap.

Definitely looks like one of those Chinese knockoff sites. You can get good stuff sometimes, but it's very hot or miss.

I don't want to risk my CC number on a site like that.

The Tone Shop in Addison- HO LEE ****

It's been a few months since I've been in there. The place has blown up! It looks like they've stocked up for a Christmas sale or something. I'd bet there's twice as many guitars as were there the last time I was in.

I couldn't leave without buying something. So I snagged a cheapo guitar strap since I forgot to bring one on my little road trip.

I got an email from them today. Guess I need to check their site.

It's fun if you're a guitar nerd. There aren't really any great deals to be had but there is a variety of things there to see. You'll usually see stuff that you won't see in the typical store. I like to browse through the parts bins.

What you'll find is dealer after dealer after dealer with a mixture of 50 Martins and Taylors. Fine if that's what you are lookin for, but I'm a guitar nerd and still found myself board pretty quickly.

It felt like 10% was the PRS booth, 10% was the Gibson booth, 10% was boutique or parapherneaia, and 70% dealers selling martins and taylors.

edit: this was my experience 8'ish years ago.

Y'all ever heard of Diamond Guitars? I was looking on Google Maps for some locally-owned shops in Houston and saw a Diamond Guitars way up in the NW side. Their website doesn't show one there but whatever.

I'm not familiar with this brand. Anybody got any experience with them? Looks like a lot of Fender, Gibson, and PRS clones.

They claim a number of signed artists play them. I've never seen one on Reverb or on GC or Sweetwater sites or in a store.

Looks like they have a couple of shops in TX that are authorized dealer. If I find myself near Canton, TX some day I might swing by and check one out.

That could be 3 years from now but we'll see if the brain can retain this info

I like it a lot. Feels nice and plays nice. A little weighty but not bad.

Who is McCarty and why are there so many guitars for sale with his name?

Ted McCarty. He was at Gibson and had a hand in inventing a good number of their staple features. He ended up being Paul Reed Smith's mentor and was hired as a consultant as well.

I literally just watched a Rick Beato video with him and Dave Onorato going through Rick's collection. He showed a PRS McCarty. It was nice.

This popped up last night. I actually almost bought one of these when they came out, but was playing in a country band and couldn't see any scenario at the time where I wouldn't feel like a total goober.

This one may sell, but the dude's story about it being toured with by Chris Henderson seems unlikely (he had his own signature model with PRS, no way he's touring with this one) and he calls the guitar's condition "very good". I'm always amazed at some of the stuff you see people say about guitars.

You have enough solid mahogany body, maple-top, dual humbucker guitars. Get some variance in that collection!

Oh, I'm not even considering that one. Just laughing. There's still no realm where I pull off that instrument.
