i can only see their IP address, but i'm not going to post it here. There were never any rules about # of times you could vote. Someone voted 16 times for Spaceballs in Round 1, but it didn't matter. They've voted a few times for BTTF but only voted the rest of the bracket once, but appear to have stopped. The new rule starts tomorrow.

So now we all need to vote 3 times to make a full vote? Why not cap it at 1..

Or how about people stop being *****es about this and just vote once?

Die Hard vs Ghostbusters was tough, but I went with Die Hard.

I've added a Consolation Round for everyone who still needs closure that their favorite has gotten the boot or didn't get invited to the party.

Update: I will be providing CONSTANT updates of this incredible matchup throughout the day.

So if you win that bracket you'll be the champ, right?

Consolation Round update!

Caddyshack in command with 40% of the vote.
Followed closely by three movies that are clearly all just as good as each other: Police Academy 6, Two Moon Junction, and Back to the Future at 20% each.

And while I'm biased towards BTTF due to the above, I can say with at least a modicum of objectivity that it's a better movie than ROTJ.

There are great things in ROTJ, and there are a lot of bad to terrible things in it as well. And yet for all the hundreds of times I've seen BTTF, I can't find fault with it. I consider it a perfect movie just like I do ESB.

You need to watch the real ROTJ, not the *******ized special edition

Believe me, of all the problems I have with ROTJ, none of them come from the SE.

I think I voted for all the winners except ROTJ, which is ironic because it's the movie that probably has had the biggest effect on my life.

Sad to see BTTF go as it might be the pinnacle of what I think about when I think "80s movie"

Back to the Future still in the lead!
The person who voted for Caddyshack 54 times in 5 minutes has had all their votes erased!
MISSING IN ACTION III IS ON THE BOARD!

Dune still bringing up the rear.

Dune is on the board! Dune is in the building! Dune has exactly as many votes as Police Academy 6!

Meanwhile in the Elite 8, there are 2 dogfights and 2 whippings going on.

I've seen it, in the 80's or early 90's. I'm just not a big Star Wars guy. I've seen the original 3 and that's it.

For reference, I'm 40

In no order:

  • Ewoks.
  • Luke's "plan" to save Han makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
  • Han was completely neutered in this movie. Doesn't even feel like the same character.
  • Boba Fett's ****ty cartoon death.
  • The entire forest battle on Endor.
  • Palpatine's death. (I've always found it anti-climactic, but now it looks amazing next to TROS.)
  • Ewoks.
  • Did I mention Ewoks?

Special note: Yub Nub is absolute trash, but I don't list it because I don't ever watch that version. One of the most anti-climactic and odd musical choices to close one of the biggest franchises in the history of film. The SE music was a vast improvement.

Excellent. Here are a couple of BTTF questions I've always wondered about.

1. Why didn't Marty's parents realize that their son is a dead ringer for the mysterious Calvin Klein they knew for 1 week in 1955?
2. Why is a 17-year-old kid hanging out with a bizarre older dude on a daily basis when said kid appears to have zero interest in science throughout the rest of the movie? Was Marty filling some sort of "companion" role for Doc Brown?
