Hmmm..... Dirty Dancing over Cocktail maybe??? I mean I would not be surprised. I know many guys that like that movie actually. And cocktail was pretty bad. Plus DD has run constantly on cable I rarely see Cocktail.

Not sure why it's #7 actually. Only 5.9 on IMDB and only made $170M at the box office worldwide.

DD on the other hand is a 7.0 on IMDB. And the box office was like $210M worldwide.

The Drama/Horror bracket was an amazingly easy one to pick this go round. Clear winner in every case IMO.

This bracket did have the first match-up where I have not seen either movie so I abstained on that match-up: Gandhi vs whatever the competitor was - already forgot.

Spike Lee's movie is the movie equivalent of NWAs Straight Outta Compton album for hip hop music. Now if you don't like hip hop ok but still gotta recognize it's place in history. And Do The Right Thing is in \the National Film Registry, The Library of Congress and makes many best off all-time top 100 lists.

Gandhi was a great performance and a pretty good movie but kind of dry - just a Hollywood favorite in a rather blah year (other nominees were Missing, Tootsie, the Verdict, and ET which was never going to win like Star Wars) Easy choice really.

I was born the week ROTJ was released. The first two movies I remember having on VHS were a recorded off TV copy of ROTJ and a store bought copy of ET. The one where parts of the cassette were green.

I voted ET.

If this were real March Madness, Spielberg would be on SportsCenter a la Calipari complaining about the selection committee's treatment of his movie.

I had a hard time picking between Raiders and Young Guns. My brain wanted me to pick Raiders because I know its a superior movie, but damn it, there are maybe 5 movies I've seen more than Young Guns. Sometimes you just have to follow your heart, even if its the wrong decision.

Our home versions of ANH and ESB were recorded on VHS from a TV broadcast. I watched them so much I could recite the commercials and the weather advisory that came on that night.
