Really surprised by the outcome of final jeopardy. Was hoping for a few more nights but glad Ken won.

Very strange that Ken would not bet everything on an earlier DD and then bet zero on Final Jep. to give James a chance? Seems like Ken wanted another match?

Yes, Brad was awful. James didn't seem to really care and Ken was very very into it.

A little disappointing really.

And, yes, Ken is very annoying when he acts like he's "guessing" at answers and then relieved that he somehow got them correct when he knew all along. Even Alex questioned Ken on this.

But, props to Ken. He wanted it and earned it.

It was a great bet by Ken in game 2, reminiscent of James' Final bet when his streak ended. Ken was going to lose no matter what if James got it right, so trying to increase his bankroll was pointless. He could only count on James missing, and if the question was that hard, Ken stands a decent chance of missing it too (even tho he didn't). But thanks to
his monster game 1 bankroll + what he had already accumulated in 2, he'd win if James missed.

Basically, it was all riding on James unless Ken was dumb enough to bet enough to give James a chance even if he missed. He wisely didnt.

Ken was smart in both situations. In the DD where he waged 5, he was close, but if he wagers it all and wins it doesn't increase his odds of winning very much. On the other hand, if he loses it, James would already have closed the gap substantially.

In Final Jep nothing mattered except whether or not James got his answer right. If he had, he would have won the day regardless of anything Ken did.

On the DD, he only had 8000 when he bet the 5000. So while not all in, it's not exactly a timid bet. Just tried to make sure he didn't completely Brad himself given game 1 had him sitting pretty.

I could see the two of them coming out of this not liking each other at all. James comes across quirky and his jokes are awkward sometimes. While I laughed at his "Brad's score is still up there" I equally cringed. You just SLAMMED him on national TV and rubbed in the fact that he has sucked for the past week.

He then piles on with more "jokes" via Twitter now that the game is over and I can see Brad getting angry.

It wasn't live, the producers chose to keep the zinger in there. Saw no problem with it.

However it's strange that in the first game FJ, James only bet 11k when he knew he was going to have to make up a lot to catch Ken ( which he did, but then Ken would have bet more than zero and would have gotten Asiago correct anyway)

Hate to bring up the subject but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ken Jennings supersedes Trebek (if he ever leaves the show). KJ is a little smarmy but has a good sense of humor and handles television very well.

The only thing I ever saw about it was him mentioning multiple names as good candidates including Ben Mankiewicz.

I have a passing familiarity with Jeopardy, but never watch it. I tuned in for this and it was a lot of fun. I'm sad it's over.

It seemed like only two to me as well. However the key is that according to that link, James only hit 2 in round 2 while Ken hit 4.

Yeah I think a couple were VERY early on in round 1 so couldn't double up for much at all.
