Brad was first on the show 19 years ago. I consider how mentally sharp I was 19 years ago (at 26) compared to now and I shudder to think of engaging in something like a sports trivia competition. The other two clearly are interested in proving they are superior to each other, which is outstanding television.

Yeah, I think the other are a little more motivated to be top dog, and I'm guessing that may have been reflected in prep time. It also really doesn't take much of a slip to end up with a big gap. This all-in DD strategy has made it feast or famine. Rutter is still younger than Jennings and it's been similar time frames to their appearances.

You could see the difference in their videos. Ken was all about wanting to finally win one. Brad's included a line about how you only really study for confidence armor and that it really didn't make a difference.

Yeah, that studying comment was fairly telling in contrast to the intensity that Jennings seems to be showing. And then James' prep is still all fresh. Think he may have underestimated what it was going to take this time and how much even a small disadvantage can blow up. Beating 1 Ken is also different than trying to beat 2 of them.

I think Jennings has been more intentional on changing his strategy to beat James. It's been super helpful for him that Brad has seemed to hit (and miss) a lot of the daily doubles so far.

Maybe, but Brad is going all-in on these as well so I think he's trying to do the same. But he's missing them.

My whole family has been glued to these. It's like watching history because the host may not be around much longer.

I haven't been watching.. but why is it an "if it goes on for 7 days" ? Is there a certain number of points they are racing to reach?

Yep, it's basically like a baseball or basketball series. Anything beyond the minimum needed to determine a winner are still "if necessary". So right now we know we're getting at least 4

I noticed a slightly different technique of play.

James wouldn't daily double hunt in single jeopardy. He'd try and get a bigger bank before hitting it.
He'd clear out the 1000s before going to 800.

It's like they are playing a defensive strategy to hit it early to keep the others from hitting it when they have a larger bank.
Sure you want to hit it but you also want to keep your opponents from it.

They're starting at 800 and moving around with 800, 600s and 1000s.

No, Tuesday through Thursday this week. Then Tuesday next week for sure, and Wednesday through Friday are as needed.

If Brad gets to the point where he can't possibly win, does he get eliminated? So that Ken and James would be the only two up there? Or do all 3 play the entire time?

They should follow this up with the first 8 women voted off the Bachelor this week playing against each other in some sort of round-robin format. Especially the ones on last week's episode who all thought there were 30,000 feet in a mile.

That can't happen. Even if it's 2-2-0 with 3 games left, Brad could still win.

Brad will always be in contention. It can go 7 days, so it could end 2-2-3.

I assume you guys have scrolled forward in your satellite guide to see if they reserved 7 slots like they would for the world series? I can't imagine they didn't think of that. Even if it only went 4 days they would secretly have re-runs of Rockford Files lined up or something for the remaining 3.
