As a pretty regular watcher of Jeopardy and someone with a head full of useless trivia I found the categories to be tougher than normal.

Perhaps they were just coincidentally full of things I know nothing about but does anybody think they make the answers harder for this specific tournament?

And those triple answer categories are a freaking doozy.

It's tournament of champions tough.

I thought they staggered it to let the guys get into the zone a bit.

I felt single Jeopardy & double Jeopardy Game 1 were both a bit easier than their counterpart in game 2.

To be fair, you can't really claim someone lucked out because they got the DDs.

DDs have to be earned for the most part by getting a correct answer to the previous clue. More correct answers = more chances at the DDs.

Of course someone can randomly get them who isn't dominant like Brad last night.

Looking forward to tonite.

PS. I thought the clues would be much tougher for these guys. I did enjoy the " triple " clues tho.

First 2 nights have been all Ken and James. Brad failed to reach final Jeopardy in the second game tonight.

I hate to say this, but the heavy makeup and dark around Alex's lips make the poor guy look like a corpse. I feel so bad for the guy and am amazed he has the energy for this.

Brad had a shot to hang around early in DJ of game 2 but missed the DD again. It was insanely difficult.

Alright, I am glad IMDB and YoutubeTV only listing 3 episodes didn't spoil the winner.

So for James' final jeopardy bet on round 1 tonight, he bet 11914. My wife and I were thinking that it looked like he wrote it as 11 9 14, so we were wondering if there was any significance to 11/9/14. Any clues?

Pretty sure his record score is 110914.

Almost all his best and totals end up a significant number for him.

The figure was his first record breaker which happened to correspond with his daughter's birthday.

I'm just going by wiki that I was reading earlier though so who knows if both things are true but I'd assume he obviously wagered the initial single day record breaker to plan that out.

edit: I think we're on the same page. I was confused initially. Side note I didn't know jack squat again tonight. These guys are unbelievable.

I enjoyed the fellas laughing and joking during Day 2. I guess it's easy to relax when you're guaranteed $250K.

Hoping Brad can make a comeback and we can get a full 7

Can we just have Iron Chef Jeopardy and contestants just face one of the GOATs every week?

The pained look on James and Kens faces when Brad blows yet another Daily a double...

I do hope Brad has a good day.

Greatness. I love that all contestants are forced into risky wagers due to James' style of play.

Yep - Ken had a DD the first night where he bet it all and went "all in" James style. No way he bets like that pre James.

Watching people play conservative on the new shows is boring. 200-1000 is the same category. It's almost like they were told to play that way or they never watched James.

Question, are these live shows? Or pre-recorded?

If they are pre-recorded then I'm going to guess that James wins, since I doubt he would be so twitter happy about it if he ended up losing.

Did you watch his initial run? He acted exactly like this all the way up to the day he lost. Yes they are prerecorded
I don't watch Jeopardy very often, but I do like to track when guys like him and Ken go a long way. So, no I didn't watch his run except reading about it here or on reddit.

He was teasing Ken on Twitter about how slow Ken amassed his earnings on the show compared to what James won on every show. This was right before he lost just shy of Ken's all time money record.

When he lost did he tweet something funny? Or a "it was a good run, sad to see it end" sort of thing?

Even if he lost, he got $250k. I'd be reasonably happy after that.

I would be to. However, NFL players make millions but are still bummed when they lose the Superbowl.

I wonder if he's the kind of guy who is only funny when he wins or just plain funny all the time.

Was referring to this tweet:

When I first saw it I was thinking it was a bold move to take a dig at Ken like that but then he lost a couple days later just shy of Ken's record.

I was responding the question, did he post something funny.
