I saw it on Thursday. I had also seen heredity.
I didn't think it was scary, a bit ****ing bizarre and weird but it didn't scare me. It was interesting. Pretty messed up in a lot of ways. I think heredity was a little weirder though.
I just saw fighting with my family a few weeks ago and it was the same girl and she was so different in both of them.

It's not what I would call a favorite movie of mine, but what an entertaining movie experience. I can't wait to see what he does next, especially in the horror genre, though in the AMA he's doing on reddit today, it sounds like a comedy is his next likely offering.

Saw this tonight. Aster is going on my must watch list. 2 for 2. **** was weird, but in a really interesting way. I lost my **** when the "helpful" push happened. I think most of the theater did too.
Also lol, do you guys really think Christian was "holding her up"? Cause that's an awful misread, IMO. He was afraid to move on and was kind of a coward and did more harm than good, IMO. Once he had an option to move on, he did. And then he got roasted, lol.

I kinda want to see this movie but I keep hearing "if you thought hereditary was crazy..." I don't really know if that's good or bad.

I don't think it's fair to say "once he had an option to move on, he did"... The drugs they kept feeding them had a lot to do with the decisions the two main characters made... They showed quite a bit of "resistance" by Christian before he finally broke and went into the barn.
In the end, Dani actually got the familial cradle she had been lacking since her tragedy... Christian certainly didn't benefit from the trip.
Aster certainly knows how to pick his young leads -- both Pugh and Wolff (Hereditary) absolutely nailed scenes of despair and discomfort in a way that you rarely see.

The director has already admitted he wrote this based on a breakup in his personal life. It was his way of getting closure.

Question, what happened to the girl that was from London, who's bf we were told left but we see him dead at the end. Did she end up getting away? Also to someone aboves point of what would've happened had Dani not come well I assume that other chick would've been scoped to be the May queen.

I've seen it, definitely crazy ****, but just curious why you say that.
Mainly, because he said he was looking for a scary movie to watch together on Halloween. If he had asked for a daughter/MIL rape orgy type movie, I would have said go for it...although the thought of my MIL in my bedroom is quite terrifying
Favorite part was the shot at the city of Waco. Still a pop culture reference 26 years later.
Watched it! Question: Would you have been WAY more freaked out than the Americans were (PRIOR to the cliff scene), or did it just seem really creepy and weird to us because we knew we were watching a horror movie?
I wouldn't be freaked out so much as I'd be like "wow, this is just like the first episode of Norsemen"
