I walked out of Avatar. That movie just kept dragging on and on. For the life of me I still can't understand why so many people thought it was a great movie.
It's not.

Walked out of Boomerang about 20 minutes in.

Funny you posted this. I was in high school at the time and me and a group of friends watched Boomerang and then decided to see French kiss with Meg Ryan. Why we decided to see French Kiss is beyond me but we walked out about 20-30 minutes into it.

How High was so dumb. Only movie I can remember walking out of.
As a huge fan of Method Man and Redman I went to see this while on a vacation at a mall in Syracuse while my two other buddies went to see "Ali". I can safely say "How High" was the worst movie I've ever seen.

I also remember my Mom yanking me out of "Brewster's Millions" in the first five minutes due to language when I was seven years old. Now I see that it's rated PG. What the hell?

Did you come back in about 20 minutes? Misleading title if no.

I've never walked out of the theater halfway through a movie, but I watch maybe 1 per year in the theater.

I turn off movies at home all the time.

The worst movie I've ever seen from start to finish was Blair Witch Project. That movie was easily my biggest waste of $1 ever.
I had to restart Black Panther 3 times to actually get it finished. If it hadn't been a marvel movie, I'd have never restarted it.

I was in middle school or junior high when it came out but I walked out on UHF. I don't think I'd seen much slapstick/spoof comedy before that time and I didn't get it at all. My cousins stayed in and finished it while I played video games in the lobby.

Came here to post this. I still cant believe I saw any part of this movie much less IN A THEATER! I took the advice of my younger sister and went with her because she said she wanted to go see it AGAIN because she was laughing so hard she missed some funny parts.

smh

The only good part was that I didnt pay for my ticket

Made in America with Ted Dansen and Whoopie Goldberg. It was on at the $1 theater. Worst dollar I ever spent. I think I was 13 at the time.

We talked my ultra-religious aunt to take us to 8mm (Nicholas Cage, snuff films) in 1999. We were like 6th-7th graders and we obviously didn't know what it was about, we just wanted to see Nicholas Cage because Conair was cool.

Looking back, she held her stuff together longer than expected, but she finally had enough and we were asked to get up and file out of the theater. That was a long car ride home.

Walked out of Multiplicity.
Almost walked out of Phantom Menace because of Jar Jar, the terrible dialogue, etc.

I liked Sphere and loved Matrix Reloaded (but I'm a huge fan of the Matrix movies)...never saw The Thin Red Line.

I remember walking out of a movie one time, but it was so long ago I don't remember what it was.

I've tried to watch the Harry Potter movies and the LOTR movies many times and have never made it past ~ 30 mins with either.

Worst movie I ever watched in it's entirety was Solaris.

One of my good friends walked out of The Thin Red Line too. Never watched it because of that. Seeing several on here did the same will make him very happy.

Walked out of Wing commander sometime as a teenager.. terrible awful movie.

And most recently IT. Not because it was that bad, but only because it was one of those movies that served alcohol and I kept having to get up to go pee, so I waited at the bar for wife and siblings

Millions of people walked out of the movie because the trailer for Episode I played before it.

That movie was the #1 movie that week.....and hardly anyone stayed past the Star Wars preview to actually watch the movie.

I was actually one who stayed for Wing Commander. Terrible movie, not worth even turning on whenever it airs on some over-the-air channel on TV.

There've been many movies that I have considered leaving, movies like Lifeforce, Conan the Destroyer, or the aforementioned Wing Commander, but I guess I just don't like not seeing it through to the end. I did leave Out for Justice near its end for reasons that Steven Seagal took some sanctimonious tone in a speech that pissed me off.

The only movie I ever left in the middle of was a Sam Elliot movie called Lifeguard. I was with a date, and can't remember anything in particular about the movie other than it was just bad. I can't even remember who I was with or what we did instead.

I should've walked out of Gerard Butler's movie Gamer, but was with friends. My streak of having never seen a bad movie in theaters was ruined that day.

The movie was set in the Pacific Northwest near an oil field or refinery, something like that, and was very much an anti-energy, anti-oil movie. After Seagal got through kicking all kinds of oilfield ass, he went into some room full of people near the end of the movie and basically lectured that on-screen audience (but also, the real audience in theaters) about the "evils" of oil. That sack of crap delivered those lines while living among the products of such an evil product - the film on which his scene was captured, the vehicle he undoubtedly drove in to the set, etc.

At the time I was working for Texaco, and my Dad was a lifer at Shell. Neither of us were terribly enthusiastic about that lecture.

I do remember walking out of a movie a few years ago, because it was so bad. Unfortunately I was so traumatized I have blocked the name of the movie.

I cannot for the life of me remember; it was just awful. It got spectacular reviews as well (from the critics). At this point I completely stopped listening to the critics on movies.

Was it Boyhood?

After all, it took 12 years to make, and that means it's automatically good.

About 20 years ago, I was in college dating someone that I thought I would do anything for. She wanted to go see "Hope Floats". I started it and I could not handle it. Weighing my options, I choose to go to the restroom, decided to play a few video games in the arcade, ordered popcorn, coke, nachos, and hot dog.

Came back into the theater about 30 minutes later. My date was confused at the notion that I had stomach trouble that made me miss so much of the movie, but then ordered about 18 things from the concession stands.

A few years later, I had a very similar experience with "Home is Where the Heart is".

Both movies left me wondering, what movie exec watched those things and said, "Yeap, let's put this out for distribution."
