Avatar was a 3D technology research project that James Cameron scammed the studios into paying for. Luckily for them it became the highest grossing movie at that time.

We need a stickied post that lists all the things wrong with TLJ. As soon as someone starts talking about how bad that movie was, we can just direct them to the sickied post and they can go give it a blue star.

At least for the last two weeks we can focus all the TLJ talk to a single post.

And FTR, I agree TLJ was bad.

If you've spent the last 2 years telling yourself that TLJ was the worst piece of filmmaking since battlefield earth, then you are never going to change your mind and you should probably consider ignoring Star Wars in general moving forward.

There's lots of things in life I don't enjoy. So unless I've got to do them (or I'm getting paid to) I ignore them. For instance, I've never watched a hallmark Christmas movie, and I certainly wouldn't and then spend the next few years of my life *****ing about it on the internet.

TLJ got good reviews, had a huge box office, and huge DVD sales afterwards. The majority of the movie going public thought it was a good movie. If you didn't like it, that's fine, but you need to accept that most people don't share your high level of negative passion on this issue.

LOL

43% audience score on RT

4.4/10 user score on Metacritic

That's not the majority of the public thinking it was a good movie.

The best I could tell, new Star Wars fans (like my wife and her friends) enjoyed it. Lifetime Star Wars fans like myself, my brother, college roommates, work friends all consider it one of the worst Star Wars films.

Yeah. It made 1.3 BILLION dollars at the box office because everyone hated it.

Someday I hope I get hated that much.

I saw A New Hope 7 times in 2 months in 1977 and I thought the Last Jedi was really good.

Just in to repeat how much that smarmy, lameass, deliberately pathetic pos movie sucks.

Just in case anyone was wondering.

And its not like some rando movie sucking. It takes incredible talent to destroy the most successful movie franchise in history and kill off some of the most iconic characters in hollywood history so pathetically

Wow....it took 4 or 5 tries throughout my life to make it throw AOTC without falling asleep at some point (yes i fell asleep in the theatre watching for the first time).

There's no way in gods green earth anyone can convince me the prequel trilogy was better than TLJ....

I wouldn't know. I've avoided this thread because of the dumb TLJ disussion. You probably would have missed it anyway because we have to rehash the good and bad about TLJ, and how it has killed the franchise over and over again. At this point, it appears only like 7 people are going to see TROS, and they're doing it begrudgingly.

In the original EU, Palpatine had a son named Triclops who had 3 eyes (who woulda guessed?)

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Triclops

Not sure if Daisy is that much of a geek, but perhaps it has to do with what many have speculated that Rey is some sort of creation of Palpatine's.

Those are the dumbest ships in star wars. Slow moving... no shields... Didn't one tie fight crash into 2 and take them both down.
Then in an era of spaceships, lasers and planet destroying weapons it has to drop bombs in space.

But it's an HOMAGE!!! Don't you get it???!!! Star Wars took inspiration from WWII films, and thus honoring that cinematic heritage automatically makes it a stroke of GENIUS, logic be damned!!! Get with the program!!!

(And now I feel dirty and hypocritical for mocking TLJ in the TROS thread. It won't happen again.)
