I remember 2017 and the amount of incredible reviews TLJ got prior to release to the point where we all discussed here if it had Oscar hopes. I have massive hopes for this film, but I'll wait till I get my eyes on it before I trust critics again.

And I'm pulling a Clark Griswold in a couple of weeks. My wife and kids have no enthusiasm to see this so I told them all they are coming with me or I'm cancelling f'ing Christmas.

So we've been watching all of the movies again at our house before leaving next week and we got to The Last Jedi last night, and I gotta say... I think the further we get from the release of this movie the more people are going to like it, or at least the less they're going to hate it.

Every time I watch it I'm able to ignore the parts I don't like more and more and focus on the scenes I really do like.

No one will ever be able convince me that the Finn/Rose and Holdo/Poe plot lines are good, but I do admit that the spine of the movie - the Rey/Luke stuff - grows on me more and more. That, and as I've said before, I think the final act - from Rey arriving to confront Snoke, all the way to the end - is remarkable. Basically, I've gone from "It's a bad movie with good parts" to "It's a good movie with bad parts."
