I think it is going to be a redemption story of a sort. The way i see it the Skywalker name so far has been a classic greek tragedy sort of entity...so much power and so much potential to do so much good only to disappoint and fall short. My view is in this movie we will see the Skywalker name redeemed and fulfill the promise that was there starting back with Anakin.

I think you're right. I'm just wondering how they do this, considering no one with the last name "Skywalker" is still alive. Is it weird that Luke (and maybe Anakin) might redeem the name, but as Force ghosts? I guess it doesn't matter, ultimately, I'm just so curious as to how this all goes down (or, rather... rises).

There's certainly a lot of blue and and a lot of ice in this movie, that's for sure. Though, I think that floating ice chunk is way bigger than a single Star Destroyer, but I could be wrong. Also, the emerging Star Destroyer looks to be rising from beneath a relatively flat surface, and I don't see any flat surfaces on the floating ice chunk. But it does all feel related somehow...

I ultimately don't think it is a Star Destroyer, but I do think it is somehow related.

There are a lot of things he could have done, I just have a hard time feeling like any of the explanations I've heard so far wouldn't make me groan at that part of the movie. Maybe JJ has a way that will make me think "oh, that's actually awesome..." but so far each explanation I've heard is kind of eye-rolling.

Lupita Nyongo is listed in the cast on the poster, so definitely more Maz. In one of the book excerpts that came out last week for an upcoming text, she is at the equivalent of a galaxy big-wig spa when Poe goes to recruit her. She blows him off at first and he gets pissed, and then she lets him know she was testing him and it doesn't seem like he's learned his lesson about rushing forward and trying to solve all the problems himself.

I know that Leia's role will be limited for obvious reasons, but it really hits you in the gut to think she's out there helping Rey train to be a Jedi, knowing full well that Rey is likely going to end up trying to kill her son with those powers.

Have to say I'm quickly reaching TFA-level hype for this movie.

I reached that after week 1.

I would trade A&M losing every football game from now on to see TROS with my family and friends tomorrow night.

I would trade them for the movie being ESB level great.

Yeah but then Star Wars is over and you must endure another month of Aggie football and no bowl game.
