It would be better than clone or in hiding for 40 years. There's no good way to bring him back. Dark side ghost would be ok I guess. At least the premise is pretty clearly canon.

What if Rey is a "horcrux"? In the sense that she had grown in power to match Palpatine, and her life force is somehow the only thing keeping him alive? If she dies, the force balances it by removing Palpatine.

Also, unrelated to that, it would be so awesome to see all the Jedi force ghosts unite their power and somehow channel it into Rey.

Those leaks are SUPER vague in that regard and I didn't even read all of them. In what I did read, there not only seems to be more than meets the eye with Palpatine, but his voice over in the latest trailer directly contradicts something JediPraxis initially said. There's also another inconsistency I discovered in taking screen shots on the previous page that don't match with JediPraxis' reporting either. In other words, there are still so many questions that I don't trust the clearly fuzzy parts left in his vague reporting. Literally everything I said in my above post was a guess, spurred by people here saying that no angles were really making sense, hence me essentially trying to make the point that the simplest solution is most likely the right one. I was saying that based on a principle, not based on any kind of fuzzy spoilers. Also notice that I've thrown out a dozen other Palpatine theories in the past few days/weeks, since I read the leaks, because of how vague the leaks are. I'm still guessing along with everyone else and this one is no different. I've been going out of my way to not dive into spoilers here and I'm not going to suddenly start posting them now.

I'm working on 20 straight hours up for work to finish a project and have my Spotify favorites list going. Not that it's the same, but that "Portals' track for Endgame really makes me wonder what JJ has up his sleeve (along with John Williams of course) to dazzle us in TROS. The first two moves of the sequel trailer I had no problem enjoying the building hype getting ready for them because life was always so busy. Not sure I can handle it with this one.

Besides the Skywalkers questions, I'm really wondering how these three things fit together... Palpatine, the first order, and a crap ton of star destroyers.

Who the hell is manning this many ships? Does Palps recruit the first order? I'm guessing it wouldn't be hard to get Hux to fall in line, even if Kylo resists.

I'm wondering if this secret/ hidden fleet is the whole reason they are at the old death star in the first place... both the resistance and first order are running low on ships and started looking for clues to find the emperors stash.

I dunno. It certainly feels like whoever is controlling this fleet is doing so under Palpatines command... just really curious how that comes about.

He managed to survive the second Death Star explosion somehow (created a literal Forcefield or something along those lines and was then rescued), has been trying to regenerate for 30 years, but needs some kind of last piece/McGuffin to fully comeback that may or may not have to do with Rey, maybe in a way that Spilner talks about above. Snoke looked to be insanely old and like he'd been through hell. We saw Leia survive in space using the Force. I really don't think this needs to be super complicated.

I think I'm mentally prepared for this to happen, but I'm just not convinced it's going to be a good story if it does.

Anakin/Darth Vader (and maybe Luke as well?) would have been able to feel the emperor dying (or not), and presumably so would Yoda and Obi Wan's force ghosts. We've also never seen (in the movie) someone's spirit inhabit another body, so I just don't see how that would play out on screen either in a satisfying way.

I'm mentally prepared that this could be the route they take, I just hope it isn't.

JJ is great at providing badass shots. I kind of wish he had a desire to run Lucasfilm.

Oooh. I like music only on the trailer more than with the voiceovers.

First time I saw the last trailer the voiceovers, I think, distracted me too much in that I couldn't immediately recognize who was talking. Plus there were too many different voices to sort through. With nothing but the music, this feels more emotionally impactful.

It prompted me to try and find a version with all the video of the trailer. Watching that, I'd only add that there is just one spot where you need anything more than the music. Right in the middle when the team is huddled around C-3PO.



You add back in that short scene's dialogue and the sound effects from R2 when 3PO places his hand on his companion and i think we're on to the perfect cut of the trailer in my opinion. It'd have all the right things - momma, trucks, trains, getting drunk and prison.

Could clones be manning the ships? Is it possible Palpatine has another clone army he's been amassing over the past 30 years? I'm also wondering if the fleet of Star Destroyers is unmanned for now? Maybe wherever they're discovered by the Resistance is some kind of "storage" planet and they're just kind of floating in low orbit on autopilot?

I don't think it's water. Could be ice, but it definitely looks to be a solid surface it's breaking out from under...
