So after my 5th viewing or so.....

I like it. A lot. This is where I think JJ/Lucasfilm is going.

THey know they laid a dud on the TLJ. So they are taking a page out of the MCU for the epic finish. Bring back everyone. Bring back all the characters we love. Bring back the nostalgia. Bring back the awesomeness of what pulled everyone in. But unlike the MCU they are reaching back 40+ years.

The scenes with all the canon Rebel ships and vintage looking Star Destroyers.

Palpatine. Lando. Chewie. The droids. Finally the OT droids doing something worthwhile. C3PO scene gave me tears. Yes. Do this. R2 going nuts. Chewie howling. Yes. Make it hurt some.

Sets that could be Bespin, Hoth, and clearly Endor.

They whiffed on the new. So bring back the old and close this out strong. I love it. Can't wait.

JJ Abrams has been sandbagging us for more than a year saying Billy Dee Williams had a "small role" in the final film.

That's not Lando flying the Falcon.

That's General Calrissian leading the EFFING FLEET.

I find your statement so descriptive of myself as well, which in and of itself is saying something given the lesser quality of the last movie, and this trilogy overall. Yet I'm sitting there watching that trailer last night, and when the Force theme starts playing when we see Finn and Poe coming down that corridor blasting stormtroopers, all the way through Rey coming face-to-face with Palpatine, I was on an emotional cloud 9. I cannot wait.

These movies have been such a huge part of my life since some time in June of 1977, when I first saw the original release (and I went in thinking it would be dumb, but what 10-year-old turns down a chance to go to the movies with his dad?) . Through junior high I suffered a lot of taunting and bullying over my love of Star Wars - one of my nicknames was Mr. Star Wars, and it was not given in an endearing fashion - but yet, I continued to love what I loved in these movies. Even during the 16 years between Jedi and TPM, I continued to find myself drawn to the what-if for the upcoming prequel trilogy. I am one of the few (apparently) that was not let down by the prequels that, while not as good as IV or V and much of VI, were still damn good movies that filled many of the boxes I had imagined through all of those years as to how those stories would unfold.

I think that I'd actually be having a tough time with this movie, emotionally speaking, if I hadn't already dealt with all of that when TLJ came out. I saw every one of the previous movies with my dad, who had taken me to the first, bought the original 2-LP score for me, and a bunch of models and action figures. But by December '17, he was in ill health and we weren't able to see that one together, and he passed a couple of months later. Still, there is a bit of sadness on this point for me, and I'm sure my wife and kids will see some of that come out for me during or after this movie.

I just got the shivers thinking Ghost Luke is saying this to Ben Solo, not to Rey.

Man, this trailer just keeps getting better with every view. The end of the Skywalker Saga, right before Christmas, my favorite month of the year, with my favorite people in the world. Can't wait.

Finally catching up on this thread... Was that Bespin encased in ice? If so, guess that's what they get from being all "drill baby drill".

Would like 5 minutes of comic relief where Rey has no idea who Palpatine is and he has to tell the whole story starting from The Phantom Menace on.

as someone said before... their stance is odd. Like they were facing each other then both turn to hit this statue.

My theory it was a 12 Fan statue and they got creeped out by it and decided to destroy it instead of each other. i wish they would visit Kyle Field.

The space battle looks incredible and there might be several. JJ Abrams is basically the richest kid in the neighborhood. He has every Star Wars figurine and toy. And he decided the get every spaceship in the galaxy and have them fight each other.

They put these trailers together so well.

But that said, I'd like to see a television special where they honor the franchise. Half of it for the production team, and half for the on screen cast. And get everyone you can, like Ahmed Best, David Prowse, and even bust Jake Lloyd out of whatever facility he's in.
