This is the second time I feel like JJ is using C3PO to break the fourth wall and talk to the fans. This one is way more obvious, but his line at the end of TFA when he tells R2, "My dear friend, how I've missed you." always felt to me like he was speaking for the fans and having all of our favorites together again.

Looking at tickets, my theater will be showing it in the following formats Thursday the 19th. Tickets are still available, so which format would you go with?
  • IMAX 3D: FILMS TO THE FULLEST
  • IMAX: FILMS TO THE FULLEST
  • REALD 3D: VISUALIZING THE FUTURE
  • DIGITAL

All these options confuse me, so I often just go w/ Digital. What say the experts?

Could also just be intentionally symmetrical to the Force Awakens poster like Brian posted above, but it just jumped out to me at first glance.

I like that idea. Symbolizing their blades coming together - i.e. a team up - which spells ultimate destruction for Palpatine. Either way, there's definitely something intentional-looking about it.

I fully admit I have been a complete cynical d-wad since TLJ. I really don't like it. And I am very "meh" on TFA. Love R1 and Solo is serviceable.

But this hit me in the feels. I know JJ and Co is masterful at the trailer and my old grumpy man side expects to be let down, again. But my 1980's kid side had hair standing on end watching that.

I will shut my mouth and see this movie on opening night in Georgetown, Texas, USA with my wife and sons and I am so gd excited for it. And my wife and kids will be looking at "daddy" the whole time to judge my reaction because they know me better than anyone and they know I am emotionally and culturally invested in this.

As I posted on Spilner's epic Star Wars thread years ago....I was the kid that walked down a dirt road from somewhere around 1979 to 1983 to check the mailbox everyday, hoping that Bantha Tracks showed up. Then had to fight my brothers for possession of it.

God I love Star Wars.
