So what does the blue font mean? (I recall a conversation over TLJ being in red)
That's not an official logo/image. All the official "IX" logos on set are still using the standard yellow. I think since the TFA "Star Wars" logo was yellow, and TLJ was red, since there isn't yet an official title treatment/logo for whatever IX will be called, a lot of people are shaking it up by using blue for the heck of it. It's a nice look, though, and one I hope the official marketing uses.
To follow up on the who is Thrawn question. In the books, he is from a warrior near mythical species in unknown space. He knew Anakin during the Clone Wars and returns as a spy to understand the treat. His plan works too well and he becomes an senior admiral for Palpatine. He talks about another threat in the unknown region, and many of Palpatines machinations were about a growing threat in the unknown regions. Very good books. I never read any of the expanded universe novels. In those stories he was a loyal Empire admiral.
Looked back and didn't see this article referenced here. Nothing Earth shattering from the article (did state that it will be shot in 65mm format though).

Yeah, either I or someone else posted that way back when in the other thread. And yes, the Trevorrow draft has been completely scrapped since then. Ridley also cried tears of joy when she found out Abrams was coming back, if that tells you anything.

Like obviously Kylo Ren will be trying to do something and Rey will be trying to stop him from doing it, but that's all we got.
While it could be episode IX news, it could also be for the new Star Wars episodes or even for a Disney ride\attraction.

That's an old TLJ pic. No official stills from IX have been released yet.
That is from TLJ, but they are filming the island scene with Luke & Rey again though.
Roughly this week, twenty years ago and four years ago, respectively...
- The first trailer for The Phantom Menace was release on Wednesday, November 18, 1998 (the week before Thanksgiving).
- The first trailer for The Force Awakens was released on Friday, November 28, 2014 (the Friday after Thanksgiving).
I seriously doubt Disney/Abrams will release an Episode IX trailer this week - there has been zero chatter - but...

That first TFA teaser was a thing of beauty.

Sounds like the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan is filling in for Jakku this go around, though it could always be Tatooine or a new location as well.
One thing you've gotta give to the sequels - they've chosen some damn beautiful locations.
