I have a 5 year old (well he will be in 2 weeks) He absolutely loves everything Star Wars. His and his sisters birthday party is actually going to be SW themed. He has been into it now for about 2 years. He has seen every movie except R1, he understands the characters, who is who, who is related to who (mommy is a BIG SW fan and helps)

His favorite character bounces between Kylo and Vader.

Their birthday is:

Episode 5 & 3
The Aging of Psenciks

The young Psencik padwans, Eugene and AnnMarie, are beginning to take on their formative years of their training within the force. They are in a constant fight to balance their light and dark side forces competing within them...

They have been training in the use of the force to make their birthday celebration but sinister first order spies have stolen the plans for the party...

Their Jedi father, Master C, and Sith mother, Darth S, ask you to join them at the celebration of their births and help restore peace and justice to the party and the galaxy

May the force be with you.....

Coming to a household near you...

Just watched Endgame and I just have to say. I'll be extremely pissed if I feel this let down when IX comes out....

I think you've got bigger issues to worry about if you were "let down" by Endgame.

Not what I said. It had great moment. The first damn scene literally ripped my heart out.

But, to be brief and not try to spoil: hated what they did with Thor, never introduced Deever as Captain Marvel (girl next to me literally said, who's that) Hated most of what they did with BW, especially having her look like a slob, not sure why Deevers needed the Captain America haircut...plus why does she disappear for 2hrs. Loved how Captain America and Iron man stories finished. Hated who it passed to... personally thought the middle got just a little too long but then how instantly tony just found the fix and boom we were off...

I'll see it again later and maybe like it more then but for me now the irritations won the night.....did I mention Thor...it was funny at first, then it got old.

That's right, you aren't allowed to have a different opinion than the board consensus!

So basically you just hated a few characters' hairstyles/overall grooming? Got it. Hopefully the next post-apocalyptic movie you see will be more believable, with everyone getting the Queer Eye treatment in the face of insurmountable despair and depression.

Btw, what's your problem with me all the sudden? I've always enjoyed everything you've brought to the board, your Star Wars knowledge is unparalleled, and we've seemingly always gotten along. It sucked that such terrible circumstances took you away for a while, but it was awesome when you finally were able to return. Then we had a simple misunderstanding a couple weeks back, where I thought you were commenting on something you weren't, I explained myself, but you've been incredibly snippy with me every since, if not before then. I mean, I get that you apparently think I'm some E-board Nazi or something, but I have zero I'll-will toward you and it sucks that we're apparently at odds now.

Good point. They probably should have given her her own movie which introduced her to the MCU prior to this one.

This is actually a question that I have because I don't have any kids and my family really only has one kid in the age range for these movies.

Did kids like The Last Jedi? Like not in that kids-like-almost-all-movies way, but like, is this a movie that kids want to see over and over again? I remember really liking the old Star Wars movies when I was a kid (born in '85) and my dad taking me to see the special editions when they came out.
My sons are 10 and 13. They saw TFA and R1 in the theater twice. TLJ and Solo once.

I don't think either have done a re-watch at home of any of them except R1. That said, they've seen the OT movies dozens of times. They watched them for years in the truck/car on road trips.

Not really sure how to say it. My kids loved the OT, the legos, they wear SW shirts all the time. Posters on their walls. It's like they really dig SW culturally but don't really care about the movies, except the OT. If that makes sense. They absolutely had a blast at Disney Hollywood studios with all the SW stuff.

My older boy's favorite shirt has retro Chewie from ESB on it with 3PO strapped to his back at Cloud City, with the caption "I got your back". It's just funny. And he's a cool kid and he wears stuff like around.
Did y'all watch the movies together and did you share your opinions about TFA, R1, TLJ, and Solo before and/or after the viewings before they had developed theirs?

I only asking because I have a 4.5 year old who hasn't watched any yet. I'm just trying to decide how much of my opinions i should offer because I feel like TFA should be one of those movies that should hook a young boy in with it's big landscapes and story.
Well.....I don't really push pop culture stuff on my boys. Clone Wars was big when my older boy was younger and he loved it and that kind of pushed him to the OT and the Legos stuff. They knew I loved the OT and then watched, and watched, and watched, and loved it. I never "tainted" them on the prequels. I left them to their own opinion. They like the new movies, especially R1, but certainly don't have the enthusiasm for SW that I did at their age which is understandable.

But to try to answer your original question, I don't influence them on stuff like this. I want them to form their own opinions.

Someone says something against the consensus.
I make an unfunny sarcastic comment, because that's what I do.
TCTTS makes authoritative statements about an opinion.
Sex Panther makes a funny sarcastic comment, because that's what he does.
Longtime poster stands up to TCTTS.

my main concern with the idea of Palpatine possessing someone's body, willingly or not, is that is pretty much the same plot line as the 2003 Star Wars game Jedi Academy .

I included the three words "on your left" in a humorous (to me) post about the Long Night episode of GoT and had 10 different people demanding I be banned because those three words were going to spoil a movie that had been out for 4 days and already made $350 million.
