I have not read spoilers, but I think I'm starting to figure out the main direction of the movie so here goes:

Well, we've seen the trailer with red eyes... and we've seen the other trailer when he's all hooked up to something and is talking about taking one last look at his friends. Sounds to me like they are using his protocol droid abilities to interact with another computer or piece of equipment. At a guess, this process will wipe his memory, just like they did in ROTS.

What I can gather from the trailers, this story will mostly revolve around Rey, Poe, Fin, & the droids. We've seen a handful of locations so it certainly feels like they are planet jumping together, looking for something. At a guess, they are all searching for the lost Imperial fleet... they need ships. The scene with 3PO is probably the last piece of the puzzle, so it's a key moment and sacrifice for our golden droid.


Not sure when the Death Star wreckage comes into play. I assumed that was the end a while back... but now I'm thinking it's just one of the stops along the way. Star Wars is notorious for having multiple fights to conclude a movie... Both Phantom and ROTJ had an air/ground/Jedi fight all happening at the same time. I think we get the same thing here. We get the air battle around the Star Destroyer fleet... the ground battle happening on the ships with horses, red storm troopers, etc.... and we'll have Kylo/Rey/Palps doing the Jedi thing (I can only guess when they find the fleet, they find Palps with it).

I haven't quite put all the pieces together, but given his tie to Anakin Skywalker I was wondering if it had something to do with his past. Like what if they did a factory reset on C3PO.

Yeah, that's a cool theory. If they could reboot him pre ROTS wipe and he has some key information.

Or it could be a really funny "Miss Lippy's car, is green!" sorta moment. Master Anakin built the fastest pod racer... Master Anakin's mother had brown hair... Master Anakin does not like sand...

It doesn't necessarily have to be that far to the past.

I'm just trying to think of something unique about C3PO and that's about the only thing I can think of is his ties to Anakin.

You are getting mixed up. Battlestar Galactica is the show that is an allegory for Mormonism

The second that you realize the entire nine movies saga is actually the story of R2 and 3PO and that the Skywalkers were only along for the ride..

3PO and R2 are going to release a book after this movie..

So Lucas is actually a genius because he was writing dialogue that he thought a droid might make up.

The gist of the article is that $205M is basically the floor, but if reviews are good it could obviously take off and do numbers closer to what you're talking about.
