Btw, the "We're listening" bit between Tom and Greg was an all-time Tom/Greg convo. I was cracking up the entire time.

"Look at you scanning for influence like a yuppie RoboCop." - I had to pause to make sure I wrote that one down too. So funny.

I love the show, and Roman is probably my favorite character. However, I am finding it more and more difficult to look past the fact that he would have no business whatsoever in representing a company that was trying to steer away from negative associations. Kendal can be ruthless and is a useful robot, Shiv can even out and soften the company's perception...what does Roman add, other than hilarious scenes?

My struggle with Roman's character all along is that in a show of extremes, his character takes it to another level. It is so far out there that I just never bought in, which is probably why I'm not rooting for him or against him. Just never really bought the whole scenario with him.

It was great to see Kendall stand up to Logan for hitting Roman. Like a flash of the old Kendall, if even for a second.

Also makes it clear that this probably happened at least a few times when they were kids.

Yes, Roman is extreme, but I don't see him as being "so far out there" that it's impossible to buy in. I grew up with a couple guys EXACTLY like him, and I've had to be at dinners in LA with assh*les just like him as well; people who won't shut up about their black cards and tell lewd, insufferable stories about hanging out with Armenian princes. Roman feels incredibly common among those circles in that way. So many of those guys are insufferable ******s. At least Roman is a hilarious insufferable ******.

I'm not saying guys like him don't exist, but the COO aspect of an empire like Waystar Royco is just ridiculous.

I agree and I also think it ties into his weird deal with only getting off to insults.

Who else was cringing and watching that episode through their fingers? So good but so tough to watch.

- glad to have Greg + Tom back in my life after an episode break.
- they're going heavy on the "Logan is old and not well" stuff. Wonder if they will kill him off by the end of the season?
- the writers sure must have a negative point of view of publicist.

What I really like is "we here for you". It came to my mind when they were talking about it and even though I knew they were talking about "hear" I still thought of the grammatical error way.

I mean thats the point. Its supposed to be ridiculous. This show isn't always satire, but it's definitely got its roots there.

I binged the season up to this point over the past 2 days I hadnt a chance to watch it until this weekend and holy crap this season si PHENOMENAL. I wavered on wh I liked this show in Season 1 but I really feel I get it now and its gone to new heights this year.

Tonight's episode was amazing. The show nails some great moments and for me Papa Roy chasing after the car almost completely powerless and almost completely unaware that he can't just get his way was masterful. I love the humor at times in this show but honestly the drama/satire elements are so much better, IMO. The laughs are smart but cheap in comparison, IMO.

Could be wrong bc I didn't go back to make sure, but at the end of Tom's presentation, I think the PowerPoint said "we here for you," which I thought was great. So after all of that hilarious conversation, they still screwed it up.

Yeah, I didn't rewind to confirm, but I'm 99% sure I saw this too. LOL. So great.

There will be 10 episodes this season (there seemed to be some confusion about that), and the finale will be 70 minutes, per HBO.

IMO, easily best episode of the season. Top 5 of the entire series.

Looks like more chickens come home to roost next week as well...

The deal to buy the most respected name in news falling through definitely opens the door for the white knight. It's kind of a perfect worst-case scenario for the Roy family. Lose the proxy fight, and control of the company, or sell your soul for Middle Eastern oil money. And now that Roman had the meeting they know the real price, regardless of the financial terms. I love this because it just makes everything worse or them if this is the road they go down. Anything else seems like it would be a too much out of left field.

I will say that Holly Hunter was so good in her short run, would suck if she's gone. Would be nice if they kept her around.

"We Here For You" was why the people in the crowd listening to Tom were laughing.

And I think at this point the obvious direction the show is going with Shiv feeling slighted, Roman being abused by his father and Kendall finally starting to awaken from his slumber is that the 3 will finally all team up on the same page (along with Jerri, whose name being on the top of the succession list for optics will actually come in to play) to wrestle for control of the company.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I like that.

I still think it's too early to kill off Logan, so if that scenario plays out, I'm thinking next season would be all three kids + Jerri vs. Logan. Logan finally dies at the end of the season three, and then with the vacuum left by Logan, the kids are back to fighting each other for control in season four? Maybe something like that.

Isn't Shiv the one who originally leaked the cruise line story toward the end of season 1?

As far as I recall, Tom tried to tell her and she didn't want to know anything.

No she got the info out of Tom and then I think she leaked it to someone. She definitely knew about it.

This is what I remember as well. I don't think Shiv knew anything. They decided together it would be best if she didn't know.

But as I'm typing this, I'm remembering an episode where the politician convinced Shiv to get it out of Tom, so they could use it for political gain. But I don't remember Shiv ever leaking it.

When they did the family-getaway/photo opportunity things in New Mexico, Logan insulted Shiv and she left in anger to see her Politician guy, and I think that's when she said she was willing to go against Logan on the politician's behalf and attempt to get the information from Tom. Not sure though.

Shiv got the info from Tom and then used it to basically blackmail Logan to play nice (somewhat) with the senator she was working for. Or at least come to a truce where he'd back off attacking the senator with ATN. But as far as I know, she never told anyone. If I recall, this all happened when they were overseas for the wedding. Tom was feeling vulnerable about the old boyfriend Shiv was ****ing, so as a sign of trust, etc, he went ahead and told her. He says "if you want to know about the cruses, I'll tell you" when they were in the bedroom. They didn't spell it out and have him actually do it on screen, but Shiv turns around and uses it to get Logan to back off. So I'm pretty sure she knows all.

I do think this was just a reporter digging into it for a long time on their own and found source(s) involved in the incidents in the past vs. something Shiv leaked. It's possible that will be a reveal later, but I don't think so.

Looking at this picture....he would do a great job playing Saul Goodman as a younger man if they ever did a prequel to the prequel.
